In its debut weekend, Paul Blart: Mall Cop will win the box office race, according to reports.
By the end of this Martin Luther King, Jr. long weekend, it's on track to take $40 million to the bank.

Coming in at #2 is the Clint Eastwood drama, Gran Torino. It's MLK weekend payday is expected to total $26 million.
And, rounding out the top three is another newcomer, the Diddy executive-produced flick, Notorious. The biopic about rap legend Biggie Smalls will take home about $24 million by the end of the holiday weekend.
It was a good weekend for Hollywood.
According to preliminary analysis, TOTAL box office earnings are up 28% over last year's Martin Luther King weekend.
In these crap economic times it's nice to see someone making money!

I saw it and it was funny. The rotten tomatoes website said it was horrible but I thought it was very entertaining.

I love kevin james but I think u are making it up because I have yet to see any opening weekend projections for this week anywhere and I went to see my bloody valentine and the lines for it were insane.
You got it wrong. #3 was My Bloody Valentine 3-D. Notorious was #4, like the 4 people that got stabbed at the after-party.

I was one of the fools that saw this movie this weekend and it sucked. I knew it was going to suck but my friend wanted to see it and I was really bored so I said oh what the hell. It's a typical family comedy…rated PG, and not that funny.

I just checked MSN Entertainment and your beloved Brad ArmPitt's 3-hour snoozer "Benjamin Butthole" has already dropped out of the Top 10 - haha! People are sick of him. On the other hand, Clint Eastwood totally rocks!! My husband and I saw "Gran Torino" yesterday it was so good! A wonderful heartwarming story and drama that actually has a few funny parts to it. Now I want to see "Frost/Nixon" and DEFINITELY Leo and Kate in "Revolutionary Road"!!!
