New U2!!!!!!

U2 have just released their new single and…..
Unfortunately, it's quite disappointing!
Get On Your Boots sounds like a bad song from the '60s. It sounds more like a B side than a big "comeback" single.
It is NOT what U2 does best, big anthemic power pop/rock.
Sad!
Check out Get On Your Boots (below).
What do U think of the song????

They never left, how are they coming back? You're just pissed off because Bono was at the inaguration concerts and now you're an Obama basher because he isn't focusing on gay issues 24/7. Whinner.
sounds like INXS & Velvet Revolver lite.
Don't really like it but I've never really liked their stuff so…
Ew, that's actually really horrible.
Perez you may be too young or unfamiliar of what U2 does best. And there is no comeback? Comeback from what?
.
.
This one sucks ass big time, its such a bad 60's song…
.
.
I heard it today on the radio, and I liked it.
They did sound like crap in Washington tho. I wasn't to pleased to hear back up singers when none were on stage, Lip Syncing?
I'm so not into Lip Syncing!
I'm not sure if this should have been the first single!
Re: boylondon3 – Well said
Re: orla666 – U2 copying Simple Minds … funniest thing I've heard .. EVER!!
Re: sponge – glad I made someone laugh tonight though! heheh
Re: sponge – But…its fair to say Jim Kerr(singer of SM) has copied Bono too with the shouty pompous stadium thing…love both bands though… Greetings to Limerick
Not bad….i was actually happily suprised…but i dont know artist such as girls aloud, solange, and the sugababes…and NOW U2 are going after this sound…perhaps their riding the heels of miss winehouse? same with adele and duffy…..Solange is probably the best effort besides adele's album…..Hopefully this will be a hit…i like it…retro pop…..!!!!
Uh, NO! Give it up Bono…move to Africa and get on with your life.
U2 is not like the pop shit that Perez listens to. You know, stuff that actually has a bit of substance.
Also, they're last album was the album of the year and the highest grossing concert. Hardly in need of a "comeback"
I actually really like it and I think that after listening to it a number of times, it probably gets even better!
I love it! It's catchy and I can see myself driving down the road singing it!!
This song is great… Power Ballads are so 80s… listen again, Perez.
And ALL HAIL PRESIDENT OBIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
screw you perez. I've read you for years but you don't know shit about music and you never have. It's not even a 60's sounding song! know what the hell youre talking about before you give one of the legends of rock a shitty review, you jackass.
I like the psychedelic nature of the song. In fact I like it way better than the shit released a few years ago like "Beautiful Day."
Hate them -never liked them- Big Deal
I like U2 but YAWN, this is boring as hell.
U2 rocks!!always!!!
Mario … a "comeback"? Are you even familiar with U2? Please listen to the Joshua Tree and then listen to "The Fly" from Achtung Baby. Evolution is their game. Not sure what 60's you're hearing. I can't believe I'm actually trying to reason with a dude that lusts over little boys like Zack Effron. Oy.
i think its different.. its not a generic sound like EVERYONE else… they always come out with originality and this isnt one of my favorite of their songs but at least its original… u2 rocks!
Wearing matching sunglasses is kinda gay.
Actually, I've never thought U2 was all that great, despite their popularity. All I can hear when they perform is Bono's ego shouting to be loved.
Re: orla666 – Yeah, I do know the SM. I loved them, saw them a few times. IN fact, liked them more than U2 in those days. However…I wouldn't say they aren't alike much at all. The Edge's guitar work - from his particular sound, his riffs, and strumming create the distinctive U2 sound - and the writing style is world's apart. Bono's lyrics are really second to none. The Simple Minds had their own thing going…especially their early stuff - NOTHING like U2 at all, except that they are from the same area of the world. And there is a reason that U2 has had such longevity in the crazy music business - they are consistently good, and have been for years. I now have all of their albums (yes-on vinyk) and since my hubby was an original fan, I got into them more, and really listened to them. Bono is a consumate entertainer - although a total political tool. That's OK though - at least he has passion in this world of deadbeat, do-nothing dopes.
It's not easy to write songs, you should only know, Perez. This might not be one of their best work, but it's not completely awful either. U2 has done many many other awesome songs, cut them some slacks. There probably gonna be other better songs on the album than this one. U2 still rocks!
Re: Bail Out – you're right, Edge does have a very distinctive style of playing. It's instantly recognisable. I know that Bono gets an awful rap, and we feel no different to youse but if you see him on stage, a born showman and entertainer. He has that way of making you think he's only singing for you (difficult to do in a stadium(sorry, field) of 80,000 people)
