Lost Losing Steam. New Season Premiere Down 25%

Wednesday night's TV ratings are in!

And, Lost's season premiere sucked more than expected, sadly.

Just 11.4 million took in the new season premiere.

That's 25% lower than the last season prem.

Apparently, the 'increasingly complex drama' was expected to drop, but not this much!

A lot of people we know gave up on Lost ages ago.

Are U still watching???

And why?

      I'm not into Idol or Dancing with the Stars, and how much CSI can one take.
      Grey's is jumping the shark with the Denny thing so what the hell else is there.

      Not surprised at all. By the final season it will be down to 6-7 million. I still watch, but I nearly gave up on during the second season. It got much better mid S3. The show does require commitment, even going beyond just merely watching the hour. It is getting even more complicated now. I think the run should have been shorter with less filler episodes. They also made a big mistake with the long hiatus between seasons.

      Your loss people! Lost is an awesome show and if you don't watch every episode you will be…Lost :) It's very complex but that's what makes it so interesting. It certainly isn't a show that you can watch on occasion and keep up with it. They did have one season that wasn't the greatest but it redeemed itself. Every season is like a new show and it never gets old. It's not like other shows where every episode is a re-do of the previous week. Unless you've watched it from the beginning, you probably will be a hater. I think that it's one of if not the best show I've ever watched on TV…and I'm a TV junkie!!

      I LOVE LOST!!! It's incredible! The season premiere was AWESOME. A bit confusing, but you get it anyways. It's an amazing show. People only gave up on it because they got impatient and because of the erratic scheduling. BUT!!! They fixed it up, set an end date and cut the seasons down by 8 episodes, which will make the plot lines tighter, more action-packed, more mysteries revealed - all in a shorter amount of time. And because of the end date, you know that they know where they're going with the show.

      OF COURSE we're still watching! For one, a lot of us watch in huge groups. Plus, that's actually about the same numbers that Nielsen said watched last season on average.

      Besides, we all know how massively inaccurate Nielsen ratings are now. For one, their "random sampling" COMPLETELY excludes those living in apartments/at college, which is a good chunk of the TV watching population. I wish they'd just find a way to where every TV bought can say what show everyone is watching. That way we can prove Lost is still watched by tons.

      People need to take into account that Dish Network and ABC still haven't reached an agreement on a new contract. SO a lot of dish customers COULDN'T watch the premier because they don't receive ABC right now!!! I had to go watch the premier at a friends house. I still love LOST!       I refused to watch Lost for years and only recently got into it. The only reason I was able to actually like it I think is because I watched every episode pretty much back to back and the story line flowed faster for me. I'm not sure if I'll like the series now that its not fast like that and I have to wait for episodes. So I will probably just wait till the season is over to watch them all

      Well I have been a fan for years and watched it last night. I just hope they are consistant in showing an episode each week and not suddenly stop the show for 2 or 3 weeks and then resume it again. I think that is partly why they lost alot of viewers. Anyway if they are not consistant this season I will wait for it to come out on DVD.

      Lost requires an enormous amount of brain cells and concentration, so its not surprising that a lot of people "don't get it" or can't keep up! Its not like a sitcom where you can start watching at any time and get it because its too complex- everything, even down to the soundtrack, is extremely well thought out and everything is connected in crazy strange ways- You have to keep up tabs on everything! But complexity doesn't mean its terrible, on the contrary- this is the BEST SHOW EVER. And I was quite surprised by HOW MANY people watched last night! All over my myspace, people were excited about it and a bunch of my coworkers were stoked too! Can't wait for this season!!!

      I have been watching since day one and will continue to watch until the end! Lost is one of the best shows on t.v.
      As for the premiere, Half the episode Sawyer was shirtless!

This show has the most compelling drama and acting than any I've known…plus some comedy intermixed! And now, come to find out, it is even bonafide sci-fi! If ratings SHOW that it is down, it is possibly because of LOST PARTIES such as my crew has…3-5 of us get together to watch our favorite show!

      DEF still watching!! LOST is the most complex, compelling, quality drama on television. Those who have lost interest in the show may not have the mental stamina to keep up. Then again, some people just like to watch tv to 'unplug' and be entertained. LOST is a show you can't 'unplug' and watch. It demands your full attention. It isn't for everyone. But, I, for one, will be watching until the very last episode.

      I started to watch it when it first came on and loved then. Then after the first season, lost interest in it. My MIL was raving about it so hubby and I rented the seasons that we missed to try and catch up again but it never worked out. I worked at nights so just never got back into it and now I don't care about it anymore. I really hate tv now.
