More Violence At Virginia Tech

Less than 2 years since the Virginia Tech Massacre, the campus has been hit with more violence.
This time, however, the violence was isolated to a single fatal attack.
A yet unidentified female grad student was stabbed to death in the cafe at the Graduate Life Center Wednesday night around 7:00pm. A revamped emergency alert system ordered students to stay put while police investigated the incident.
Minutes later, authorities arrested Chinese graduate student Haiyang Zhu and recovered the knife believed to be the murder weapon. Zhu was charged with first-degree murder. He is being held without bail.
It is believed that the victim knew her alleged assailant.
An hour later, students were allowed to resume activity.
Our thoughts go out to the victim's family and friends and the entire V.T. campus.

Shit like this happen all the time in other schools but because its at VT and the person happen to be Asian, you feel like you should report it.

It's the quietest, most secure town you will ever visit, full of love and warmth and Hokie spirit; it's obvious by your words that you've never truly visited and experienced Blacksburg, VA. The fact that this has happened yet again on my campus is truly a tragedy, if only because it isn't that much removed from April 16th. Yes, the coincidence of the Asian students is remarkable, but while not much else is known apart from that about the attacker and his victim, I (along with the rest of the Virginia Tech community) would appreciate it if everyone would stop with the comparisons. But thank you, Perez, for your kind words to us. We are the Hokies…we are Virginia Tech ♥

So I have to say if this is the case perhaps instead of mourning the victims we should teach the population to stop being so damned ignorant. My boyfriend goes to VT and he said the campus is devastated. People should feel safe at college, and quite frankly, this isn't the case anymore. My heart goes out to all the people affected by this tragedy.

Wow I cannot believe the racism here. When an Asian person commits a crime you start making derogatory statements about their looks and sending them back to their country. I really don't appreciate you saying that "all of the crazies" go to VT. I go to tech and Blacksburg and the VT campus are both exceedingly safe. Incidences occur at every campus across the country. I can think of several schools just in VA that have much more violence than tech. On a campus of over 30,000 students, there are bound to be issues.
