Has success gone to his head?
Back in November, Fox Searchlight signed a deal to make cult TV show Arrested Development into a big screen movie.
But, in a recent interview, Michael "George Michael Bluth" Cera insisted that the project is still in a very early stage.
Cera described the Arrestedmovie as "more hypothetical than people think".
Uhm, it doesn't sound very hypothetical to us!
"There's no script or anything, so the movie, I think, is more hypothetical than people think," said the rising film star to MTV.
And when asked if he was "holding out" on committing to reprise his TV role for the movie, he responded, "I'd possibly play, I'd possibly put the script in my shredder. I may buy a shredder. People have asked me about it more than I've heard about it [in an official capacity] but I'd be very interested to see what the story is with it."
We'd be more worried for the movie if Jason Bateman was pulling this asshole-y shiz!

He basically plays George Michael in every other movie he's done since then so why not do it. Superbad = George Michael goes to a party — Juno = George Michael gets a girl pregnant. Maybe they'll just say he's in college or something.
But still, I just loved Michael/ George Michael communication errors. What's the most important thing? Breakfast. I was actually going to say family. Oh, I thought you meant of the things we eat.

Michael Cera is a young actor who is slowly reaching the height of his fame. With his recent successful films, his next movie choices are critical to his career.
Why should he feel guilty for not wanting to join the Arrested Development movie? He has no obligation whatsoever. That tv tole was a job, and thats that.
If he chooses not to do the movie because he wants to branch out and focus on other projects, he has every right to do so!

There is absolutely no way this movie could possibly be made without the character of George Micheal.
As an avid watcher of the show from beginning to end, I'd have to say the lack of ANY of the characters would not be a good final tribute.
Everyone from Michael Cera to Henry Winkler to David Cross is essential.
The show is all about the relationship of the family and those surrounding them…
How can you do this movie without a mani member of the family???

Arrested Development was cancelled because it was on FOX and most of the Fox viewers were more into American Idol and all the cartoons (FOX & Friends). Many people didn't get into the comedy. It's a different kind of humor. No laugh track, un-sitcom camera work. I say they need all the cast to come back. Don't do it without George Michael. Or Gob, Tobias, Lucille or Lucille 2. They should give the poor fans who adored it an actual last hurrah. They had to rush the 3rd season, they knew they were being cancelled so they had all these in-jokes, numerous cameos and they never got to reach their 3rd season full potential. At least let Michael Cera see the script. He'll change his mind because how can they produce a bad script? Those characters are GOLD.
