      Ummm ok so he wants to take one of the few avenues of business still keeping afloat in California and tax it to death to support all all the govt handouts? The proposed $2.49 isn't the issue. The issue is the $15 million jump in taxes just for that one vintner. And the bigger issue is the Legislature and their chronic failure to come up with a balanced budget. Burn your grapes and move is my advice :)

      My cousin in Jersey was talking about 3 buck chuck from trader joes. I told him how in Cali it is 2 Buck Chuck. I guess when they moved it out East they charged more.

      the real story here should not be focused on the cheapy two buck chuck but the rise in wine prices overall. why wine? why not focus on beer or all alcohol in general? not that i want that to happen either.
      the saddest issue that no one is talking about is the raise in VETRINARIAN taxes. those who have pets know how much is costs to take sparky to the doc-$$$. are we seriously going to have to pay EVEN MORE to take care of our animals? or will we just now abandon them like so many foreclosure losers do because we can't afford them?
      let's start extra taxing the SUV and Hummer drivers out there-or those that want to build huge houses that aren't needed for a family of 2 or 4. we need to tax those that love excess, shit. and yes, alcohol is a necessity in these times.
      oh and arnold, the best things to tax are those hideous cigars you smoke mf'er.
