what happened to the show must go on!?? VERY unprofessional of Patti, cameras or not! At $250.00 a pop, I'd sue her ass to get my money back. I mean, this is the most critical and anticipated part of the show, she BLEW IT. Talk about a BUZZ KILL. I'd NEVER hire her again. She is a diva, bitch, and that is the buzz on her….and this proves the rumors.

I hope she is never ever hired for another play again. What she did as an actor is reprehensible. I for one will never see a show with her in it now. Who the hell does she think she is ruining the show for everyone? And what the hell was wrong with the audience for applauding her?

Theatre goers gotta learn their manners somehow and PL was very right to call them out. There are numerous reasons recording and photography are not allowed in live theatre.

This is great! Thanks for posting it! I think she was right in what she did since the theater management wasn't doing anything about it after several warnings. People taking pictures during a performance can be as annoying as people talking on cell phones during one.
You know…I love Patti LuPone, and I agree that people who bring flash cameras into a show should be thrown out, but it is also unprofessional to stop a performance to yell at someone who is distracting. It is known back to the earliest times of stage performance that "the show must go on", and that if you're a professional, you work through a distraction without stopping. They need to hire ushers to take care of this kind of thing.
I would have demanded my money back because of her doing that…not because of the audience members misbehaving. Completely unprofessional.
Patti is a goddess, obviously some of you have no clue who she is. When Patti LuPone demands respect, she demands it, and by all means I find what she did hilarious! Flash photography during a show is not only distracting, it's dangerous. Flashing lights mixed with stage lights can make it nearly impossible to see and definitely could throw you off your balance. Go Patti! This was great!
She was in Les Miserables, too, for crying out loud. How can people forget that. She is awesome. Total diva, I grant you, but one I would put up with to see her perform anything. I don't care if it was Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. I think she should have bitten her tongue but she is not the only star to do this. Remember Kevin Spacey stopped The Iceman Cometh (I think) when people's cell phones went off. I can see their reasoning, but think security just ought to crack down better on annoying-ass people in the audience.
