They chose reality TV whore Lauren Conrad to be one of the 'faces' for the city's new tourism campaign.
Their other 'faces' include Tom Hanks and David Beckham, which we totally get, but L.C.?
She's just a talentless, spoiled, trust fund baby who got really lucky.
Wait — there are a lot of those in LA.

You may hate Lauren but 'the Hills' is being watched all over the world and has been a big hit since it started so I totally understand why they chose her. I think it has more to do with her SHOW, rather than HER as a person. Her show was initially about moving to L.A. And they definitely highlight the "it" spots and things to do (from clubs to fashion to restaurants). So maybe they feel by putting her out there, people will take an interest. Who knows? One things for sure, if she's going to represent, she better get a friggin push up bra. And straightening up her Quasimodo hunchback, might not be a bad idea.
It better LC then any of the other talent-less people out there.. Paris Hilton, The Kardashians, Spidei!!…. just to name a few. I like LC! and She deserves all of it! The others should be jealous, and jump off the face of the planet.

LA is one of my favorite cities. It is amazing.
Though I hate the way they only reflect one side of it. The celebrity part. I agree, it is its most important attraction, celebrities. Butstill, ti is such an ethnically diverse city, it has a great music scene, an amazing university… oh god. so many things.
