Jackie Chan Doesn't Like To Waste Toiletries…Or Toilet Water

Actor (and stuntman) Jackie Chan - who is slated to star in the upcoming Karate Kid remake - tries to minimize his impact on the environment by taking hotel soap home with him so he can use it until it is completely gone!
Speaking at a go-green rally in Singapore, Chan explained his environment-saving methods.
"I usually stay in the presidential suite whenever I travel; however I will wash my own undergarments and socks everyday when I return to my room. I will also inform the chamber maids that they do not have to change my bed sheets and towels everyday."
He also said that "once I un-wrap the soap which the hotels provide, I will carry it along with me until I finish using it" and that he believes hotels should charge for toiletries to discourage guests from wasting them.
He keeps green with "golden flushes" on set, where production crew and stuntmen wait until the last one uses the toilet to flush. At concerts, he encourages his audience to throw their own garbage away.
He said, "Artistes make their appeal and the audience usually will respond to the call. That is the power of celebrities."
We should all take a cue!

There's a bitch I work with who sometimes doesn't flush after she shits; I don't think she is doing it to be green. She's just a nasty skank.
yep do this too, bugs my husband. what was that line from that one movie.."if it's yellow, let it mellow. if it's brown flush it down"
eww
Hahaahaa
"GOLDEN FLUSHES"…NASTY FUCKER!
hahaha
we should listen to jackie chan!!

LOVE HIS SINCERITY, BUT NOT FLUSHING IS UNSAFE. DEVELOPED COUNTRIES HAVE ONLY OVERCAME WATERBORNE DISEASES BECAUSE WE INTRODUCED SANITATION (MAINLY FLUSHING LOOS). IF YOU WANT TO CONSERVE WATER THEN BUY A DUAL FLUSH WHICH USES LESS OR MORE WATER DEPENDING ON WHETHER ITS NUMBER 1 OR 2. ALTERNATIVELY, PUT BRICK IN YOUR CISTERN TO REDUCE THE AMOUNT IT FILLS IN BETWEEN FLUSHES. YOU WOULDN'T LET SOMEONE WEE ON YOU SO WHY WOULD YOU WANT THEIR BACKSPLASH ON YOUR PRIVATES?
heres a saying that helps with the whole toilet thing: if its yellow let it mellow, if its brown flush it down. HAHAHA
If all our natural resources keep disappearing at the current rate, we may be reduced to following Jackie Chan's personal hygiene standards whether we find it repugnant or not…
He said he only bathes twice a month and people who work around him say they believe that is vry true/ typical
Re: babykitty –
I try to follow the mellow yellow crap, but it sucks when most public places use automatic flush! :O
Re: ariel_is_swell –
Jackie Chan is also a singer~ Well, in China (or Hong Kong… I forget..) he is!
Re: Yehsung – weird! thanks :p
he's setting a good example at least =)
chamber maids? cleaning ladies haven't been called that since the 18th century.
Yeah I don't mind doing things like recycling and such to help the environment but, seriously, I draw the line and not flushing the toilet - EW!
i already have the "if its yellow, let it mellow–if its brown, flush it down" rule at my house. haha my water/sewer bills have gone down since.
"chambermaids"? "golden flushes" GROSS
Note to Jackie: We are charged for the toiletries in hotels.
We should all learn to SPELL, Mario.

Artistes???????
"the presidential suite" Wow, I bet thats not cheep soap hes using until its all gone. So tired of rich celebs telling me how to save the world from the VIP area, fuck of and take Bono and Chris Martin with you.
I adore Jackie Chan! He has been green for years! The man won't even waist a paper towel, he was on MTV Diary several years ago (One of the better MTV show) and said that unless he blows his nose on it or wipes his ass with it, he saves it & uses it again.
Love it!!
I agree that celebrities should use their "celebrity" for great causes. I wish all of them would.
Good for him.
I'm not too keen on the thought of 'golden-flush splash-back' though!
