Project Runway Judge Michael Kors Sued!
"It's Babe [Paley] and Tony [Duquette]," Michael Kors exclaimed at his 2009 Resort presentation last year, and we bet he wishes he never uttered those words!
The estate of artist/designer Tony Duquette is not pleased with Kors' Duquette-inspired threads one bit!
They filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against the Runway star on Monday. The court papers allege that Kors infringed on the Duquette proprietary name and trademark by producing and marketing the Kors Resort Collection using the name Duquette.
An estate rep said, “This lawsuit was filed with an aim toward protecting Tony Duquette's good name and ensuring that our valuable intellectual property and licenses around the world endure without harm.”
Sheesh!
