Patrick Swayze's Health Reportedly Takes A Major Turn For The Worse

We hope that the National Enquirer is just up to some lie-telling!
The tabloid is reporting that Patrick Swayze has taken a major turn for the worse.
They're claiming that Swayze has decided to cease treatments for his pancreatic cancer because doctors have told him that there is little else they can do.
This follows a bout of pneumonia that sent the actor to the hospital.
Swayze, who is determined to fight for as long as possible, has already outlived the 6 month prognosis given to most people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Please Perez, I'm sure if Patrick knew smiking would lead to cancer he wouldn't have done it. There are thousands of people including children who never smoke but die of cancer and then there are thousands of smokers who never get cancer.

Patrick Swayze has enough to cope with right now; pancreatic cancer is horrific and if smoking allows him some modicum of relaxation or well-being, let him enjoy his cigarettes! If he's reached the point where he's no longer able to eat and puking bile, it may be time for him to "let go" and move on to a better place.

I don't feel too bad. He didn't stop smoking. Pancreatic cancer is one of the fastest and deadliest cancers. Few people survive. He had a fighting chance, and then blew it by continuing to smoke.

my father in law passed away over a year ago, at the same age from the same cancer. he was sick for only 3 months…
this is a really really bad form of cancer…
he needs to really take advantage of whatever time he has left, unfortunately, he's not going to beat this one…
its really sad to see the people that are dying of this cancer, when i saw my father in law for the last time conscious (on Christmas day) he looked totally different, and was extremely lost….

This is all so sad. For those who say he should've stopped smoking, you're so wrong about that. The man has been on a crash course with death for the past several months. Why shouldn't he do what makes him feel better and helps him deal with his situation in a calmer way? Some people might use tranquilizers, some might use alcohol, he uses cigarettes. He's dying anyway so let him do it his way. I've watched two loved ones die slow, painful deaths and believe me when the end is near the best thing anyone can do is to let the person do whatever they want. I say let Patrick go out on his own terms. He's earned that right.

I hope he dies today; I'm sick of hearing about him and seeing him and knowing that there are people "praying" for him and caring about him. I love these people who say he has a right to keep smoking, to be comfortable. Really? What about the people who are breathing it? What rights do they have? Quitting smoking is ridiculously preposterously hard, this we all know. But a really unselfish person would just pack it in, stop wasting resources/time, stop doing magazine covers (can you spell narcissism?) and talking about writing books; he's another Michael Fucking Landon..Roy Scheider didn't do all this crap, and Roy Scheider was actually a GOOD ACTOR!!!!!
I say, jump off a cliff or go the Heath Ledger route.

My dad had pancreatic cancer…usually once you stop treatment you have no more than a few weeks to live. Basically they just give you methadone to ease the pain and you wait to die. I'm so sorry that Patrick and his family have to go through that.
Pancreatic cancer is the fourth most common cancer and one of the most deadly. The reason is that there is very little research being done towards a cure. Colon cancer used to be considered the most deadly cancer until research made treatments possible. The sad fact is that those who have pancreatic cancer never survive to help lobby for more research.
We should help put an end to this horrible disease.

I'm trying to get more people involved and informed about pancreatic cancer so there can be more treatments available. It's the only thing that really helps me….

For your 411, I used to groom his horses and had the opportunity to meet both he and his wife. Both are very down to earth people who have a natural talent for putting people at ease. In the insanity that is LA and Hollywood (and being a truck driver I get a dose of it every time I drive through there….I grab a Subway wrap before I hit town and I get dinner AND a show…) I find both of them incredibly grounded. As for his smoking, it has to be his choice to quit. Why don't you bitch about Gary Busey driving around drunk? He's more likely to kill someone than Patrick and his smoking.
