Twilight Sequel Doing a Casting Call in Canada
As you Twilight fans know, in the upcoming sequel, New Moon, Bella is pursued by Native American werewolf Jacob (Taylor Lautner).
Well, the movie needs some Native American actors for the upcoming flick.
They're filming part of the sequel in Canada and are doing an open casting call for Native American actors on the country's west coast next week.

Aikins/Cossey is seeking actors between 15 and 25 years of age in three B.C. casting calls in Vancouver, Victoria and Kelowna.
Candidates will receive scripts and be asked return the same day to read for a part.Victoria: Feb. 7, Paul's Motor Inn, 1900 Douglas St., 9 a.m. to noon
Vancouver: Feb.8, Second Avenue Studios, 225 W. 2nd Ave., 9 a.m. to noon
Kelowna: Feb. 8, Delta Grand Okanagan, 1310 Water St., 9 a.m. to noon

I live in Kelowna and have native in my background. So do my brother and sister…so we're totally going.
I think I'm going through serious Robert withdrawals! I'm happy though, because he's having a nice escape in London with his family and friends which is more important than having to deal with the constant attention. Missing seeing his gorgeous-ness is secondary to that for me.
As for this, I'm happy about the casting call. They could find somebody perfect that, until now, just needed their "big" break.

The X-Files was filmed here in Vancouver for years. The lighting, weather and scenery were perfect for the kind of mood they were trying to create. The show looked awful when they took it to L.A.

there are far too few roles for Native peoples for "lookalikes" to take them. it's also just as offensive as asking a non-black person to play African-American. directors who hire lookalike Natives often ask the actors to perform "stereotype" attributes which come across quite disingenous to a person of Native culture. i'm in casting and submitted a Cherokee girl named Males Jow to the powers that be. check her out. she's stunning real Native beauty.

I honestly didn't like the fact that Taylor Lautner played Jacob because he isn't native and many people from my reserve felt the same way and thought they should have gotten a native to play the role, but he is a good actor so it wasn't all bad. I am so glad that they are actually looking for Natives instead of just tanned people or people of other races though and so are a lot of other people, it just makes it seem more real.
