Progressive rocker Bruce Springsteen has apologized to his fans for being a hypocrite.
Bruce struck an exclusive deal to release his latest greatest hits collection with Wal-Mart.
The Boss' die hards have cried foul because he has been a longtime supporter of worker's rights, and as y'all know, Wal-Mart isn't exactly known for the great way they treat their ginormous workforce.
In a new interview with the New York Times, Bruce said:
"It was a mistake. Our batting average is usually very good, but we missed that one. Fans will call you on that stuff, as it should be."
Uh huh.

Wal-Mart issued its own statement regarding the Bruce bruhaha:
"Millions of Springsteen fans have counted on Wal-Mart over the years to deliver his music into their lives, and we will continue to offer those fans this 'Greatest Hits' exclusive and his other popular albums at unbeatable prices. We are proud of the good jobs, benefits and career opportunities we provide to more than 1.4 million U.S. associates who choose to work at Wal-Mart and serve our customers every day."

Yes Bruce makes tons of money, but he gives a lot of it away. He goes out of his way to stop and meet his fans after the 3 hour, non stop show. Who is greedier, Bruce ticket for $100 for 3 plus hours, or U2 and most other bands for 1 1/2-2 hrs for $150 or more. Bruce has every right to speak his mind about whatever he believes in. Just like the rest of us who speak our minds on this board. I have no doubt he felt like a real jerk for the whole Walmart thing. Springsteen made a mistake, something unfortunate but also something he doesn't do often. He has shown incredible thoughtfulness and care for humanity over the years. He also happens to be the best songwriter and performer on the planet.
