Oprah Loves New Jersey 1.5 Million Ways

According to new reports, money bags mogul Oprah Winfrey is donating more than $1.5 million to several Newark, NJ, nonprofits.
The Super O grants will go to Newark's North Ward Center; St. Benedict's Preparatory School; the drug-rehabilitation center Integrity House; a shelter for women and children called Apostle House and the community organization Newark Now.
This is not the first time the billionaire showed the Garden State some lovin'.
In August, she pledged $1 million to an educational scholarship fund for students in Whitesboro, NY, the rural hometown of her longtime 'boyfriend' Stedman Graham.
Oprah is the best!

I live in new jersey and am in public school and OBVIOUSLY perez has never attended half the shitty schools around! 90% of my school is on crack and drinking, one girl is preggers (AT 14!) I'm from Jersey and Camden is a dump. It's worse than New York these days. She should think about Trenton too, where I lived for about two years. That place is awful in the badder areas. People live in homes with two or three boarded up homes between each garbage-dump of an occupied home. No offense to you guys because I lived in a nicer area… but the 711 be my middle class neighborhood, you had to slide your money under the bullet proof glass… and one days I couldn't go home because there'd been a murder and the whole street was roped off. Awful! New Jersey is a trash heap in places like Camden and Trenton.

i live in new jersey and not all of it is shit. i go to one of the best public schools in the nation and its right here in new jersey. there is also alot more than a stupid turnpike, you can go for miles and only see farmland. there is a lot of rich areas. we also have the most diners in the nation not to mention the nicest diners. and we have the most horses per sqaure mile in the nation. the only parts that are bad…are trenton, camden, and newark. plus the revolutionary war was pretty much won here in new jersey…. so the other states should be bowing down to us!!

Then there is the fact that practically every speck of roadway is under constant construction. And it takes 45 minuutes to travel 3 miles due to the unbearable traffic since we live like sardines in this state. And by the way, Newark is the car theft capital of the US. Yeah, New Jersey is the best!

I live in Jersey City, which isn't the greatest part of Jersey, but I'm sure as hell glad I am 15-20 mins away from downtown Newark. You can get a 2 bedroom apartment for $600 (real cheap) because you're probably gonna get shot walking home. I'm glad she is helping out this state, especially Newark; it could use it. It's also amazing she is contributing money to Integrity House, a family member was there for treatment, and it's a great center…especially since most of the people who are there are broke and can't even afford proper treatment for their addiction. You're awesome O!
