I wonder how much they paid Trump, Martha Stewart, Jessica Simpson, etc. to so their Christmas commercials over the last couple years. That actually made me stop shopping at Macy's.

I worked for Macy's for over 2 years. All they care about is how many credit cards you open. They pressure you every day to get them. If you don't, they call you in the management office and show you a sheet of how many opportunities you missed on getting a new account. Yes, they follow your transactions.
I finally left after getting fed up with how they sicked security after the employees to see if they were storing mints and candy under the register.
Once, they almost took my chapstick until I said 'you're not taking that.'
But yet we watched time after time as security (who were about 20 yrs old) let people steal shit over and over. They just let them walk out with merchandise.
To anyone losing their job at Macy's:

Think of it as a blessing. Find something better. Retail sucks.

This was forseeable. That's what happens when you base an economy on crap nobody needs and people freak out and stop buying it. Welcome to the future. I'm just suprised it didn't happen two decades ago.

Thank God! With any luck this store will shut down completely! No one shops at the Macy's in this area, it sucks big time! Lousy sales people at the Pasadena stores have driven people away big time. Both of them attract the low class morons from North Pasadena.

Maybe they should try cutting their prices!? They are so freaking overpriced and overrated.

The only companies that are going to survive this are the companies that cut managements pay (can they really live on less than millions a year? *gasp*) and cut their prices. But no one is willing to do it. They would rather go belly-up…..
