Shrek Dying A Slow, Painful Death On Broadway

willllf.jpg

It was another good week for Will Ferrell's Broadway play, You're Welcome America. A Final Night With George W. Bush! The show was once again, the Great White Way's most 'packed' production.

94.8% of available tickets were sold for the week.

Coming in last place, unfortunately, is the musical adaptation of Shrek. The green giant was only able to fill 51.6% of its seats last week.

Sounds like the kiddies are getting shafted in this economic downturn!

And, a big congrats to You're Welcome America's Pia Glenn for all the rave reviews she's getting for rocking the Condalezzie role, with many saying she steals Will Ferrell's show.

Her lap dance in red panties is burning up Broadway and there's even talks of a spinoff!

I saw the show this weekend and its fucking highlarious. Everyone should see it, even you Perez. Pia was great! Will was phenomenal!

i don't think shrek would have done well in a booming economy…

A Slow, Painful Death On Broadway - isn't that Sienna Miller's current career trajectory??

Lets clean up the language people. This show is a disgrace. The office of the President should be respected. It is the highest office in the land. Dr. Rice is an accomplished woman and has done a great job in a difficult situation. Plus once again a show where women are made to look like hookers. How low can we go? Lets bring some modesty back to America.

      DAMN!! shrek rules..

If it's as good as "Talladega Nights", I'll buy a ticket.

well to be perfectly honest every show is closing on broadway it seems, at this time at least. Even the AMAZING show Gypsy (Starring the talanted patti lupone!) closed 2 weeks earlier than schedualed….not a good year for broadway it seems :(

Shrek is an example of how a smash film became a mildly fair musical…some things do not translate to the stage. Even Disney learned that with Tarzan.
