New York Fashion Week Finds A New Home

After 17 years, New York Fashion Week will be saying goodbye to its current home, Bryant Park.

The event has apparently grown out of the 6-acre space behind the New York Public Library and will be moving to Lincoln Center's Damrosch Park next year.

An official announcement is expected to be made by fashion week orgainzers and NYC's Mayor Bloomberg tomorrow, Wednesday.

According to NYC Parks Dept website Damrosch Park is 2.44 acres and Bryant Park is 9.60 acres. They may be interested in Damrosch Park's proximity to Lincoln Center theaters. Or, it could be they seriously expect the size of the Fashion Week events to continue to shrink. There have been many prestigious Fashion Week events at Lincoln Center.
