Rubik's Cube Gets A Make Over!

The 30-year-old Rubik's Cube is getting a make over this year!

Hungarian Professor Erno Rubik has developed a new three dimensional puzzle modeled after his original cube called Rubik's 360.

Great, make something hard even HARDER!

The solver manipulates three spheres to move plastic balls through them, "challenging the solver to use skill, dexterity and logic."

The original Cube has experienced a recent revival, with internet tutorials making the retro toy popular again.

The world's fastest Rubik's solver is Dutch teenager Eric Akkersdijk, who completed the puzzle in just 7.08 seconds. The slowest, on the other hand, is 45-year-old English Graham Parker, who took 26 years to solve the Cube.

360 goes on sale later this year.

I would never attempt to do such a pointless waste of time.

I had this little rubik's cube on a keychain and after a few weeks of rattling around in my purse it just fell apart! WHAT A PIECE OF CRAP! Love the rubik's cube though.

Ummm… how exactly is this celebrity gossip? You keep trying to turn this into a real news site, but GIVE IT A REST!! It's not going to happen.

    10. 10

it was already a 3D puzzle you f***tard

    11. 11

It's true, Mario. There's no way you'll ever become a reputable journalist when gossiping suits you so well.

    12. 12

I'm fresh out of skill, dexterity and logic.

    13. 13

how do you do it blindfolded?
      that's fucked up.
      like actually.
its all about the colors, there arent any grooves in the squares or anything…

    14. 14

I already have this and it is not by rubik. atleast i think i have it. sounds like it to me 3 spheres to move plastic balls through — yup. You're supposed to get the 2 balls to the exit hole by moving them through the color-coded holes. Mine is called the KO Labyrinth.

Sorry Rubik, but it's already been done!

Great!!!!! I hate being bored at work… another reason to stay out of this shitty site!!!!

Re: Jones19 – it is solved with a certain set of turns, my son can do much of it without looking and he does it under 2 minutes

Re: justtfax – Innneresting..but I mean it can't be same turns each time? If somebody mixes up the cube and then gives it to him can he solve it every time?

    21. 21

WOW, one time I just peeled off the little stickers to solve one side!!!
P.S. Hey, Perezito, sometimes it is good to make a hard thing even harder…..

    22. 22

i love puzzles and challenges. i cant be the biggest dumb blonde but yet i can do rubix cubes pretty quickly… i wonder how long it will take me to do this one when it comes out.

    23. 23

solving a rubik's cube isn't hard if you know how to read directions that come inside the package. with some practice you can even memorize it.
