I probably see 2-5 moose per week, wandering around town. There are several wolf packs that live & hunt in and around my town - and I don't live in the bush or on the North Slope. We live with the nature and critters around us all the time, and we know our lives & State require.

      I don't particulary agree with killing them, animals are great, but the reason they are doing that is encroachment and overpopulation. You can leave them alive but they will kill everything else. The manner sucks, but the reason is actually to protect the biodiversity up there, which we, as humans have already tipped beyond your wildest dreams. Ultimately we'll have two choices, let nature run it's course (us included) or control it as best we can to offset increasing human expansion. It's unavoidable, unless you guys want to start thinning our herd, which suprisingly, we aren't as good at anymore.       The point i was making is that Alaska is a huge Barren state ( in the sense of lots of open land). In the lower 48 we relocate. The continent of Africa does the same and Africa has elephants, lions ,tigers, hyennas running loose. Instead of killing them ( and polar bears) why not capture and relocate?
