Bounty Issued for Coldplay at the Grammys

We mentioned in December that music man Joe Satriani is alleging that Coldplay's Viva La Vida is a rip off of his song I Just Wanna Fly.
Satriani asserts that the band have dodged being served his plagiarism lawsuit, but he hopes that won't be the case for much longer.
He and his lawyer are planning to fill the Grammys with servers ready to pounce on Chris Martin and his fellow band mates.
The lawyer repping Satriani says, "We have warned their British lawyers that we have hired a fleet of process servers lined up to dog the band everywhere they go this weekend in the hopes of serving them."
He even promises to have camera crews roaming around with the process servers to get the whole thing on tape.
How dramatic!

ya, i just went and listened to it, and its uh, kinda undeniable. that's too bad. I actually have been defending Coldplay saying how amazing the new album is compared to the horrible atrocity that was X&Y, but i can't deny that riff that starts at :50 in Satriani's song is pretty much note for note the main chorus of Viva La Vida, in addition to alot of the chord changes being pretty much the same. *sigh* sadness.

Satriani is ridiculous. Viva lavida also sounds like one of Cat Stevens songs. I think Cat Stevens should sue both Satriani and Coldplay.

Just looked it up, and the name of the song is: If I Could Fly, btw, not I Just Wanna Fly.
It does sound similar to Viva La Vida in one part, but who cares really…

i enjoy listening to Coldplay once in awhile and i think Chris is a talented singer/songwriter but Viva La Vida is sooo much a rip-off of the Satriani tune,any person with ears that work can hear that so just pay Mr Satriani the money he' due and be done with it.Coldplay are looking like dicks by denying they stole the riff.

If Satriani is so great then why does he have to resort to such obvious publicity stunts?!?! First he goes public with his claim the day of the Grammy nominations, now this.
Chris Martin has been playing live at radio stations for the past few weeks (all pre advertised) and it's been openly reported in the press and radio that the rest of the band have been at their studio everyday. There is NO way they couldn't have served them earlier.
Shame on you Satriani for stooping to such lame publicity stunts as this. You just lost ALL my respect. It is pretty clear it's not all about his poor "bleeding heart"… It's just publicity and money or he wouldn't be doing this!
Anyway, it's only about 6 seconds of the songs that sound the same. The rest is totally different. So sadly after this stunt I'm gonna have to support Coldplay on this one !

Coldplay has know about thus VERY PUBLIC lawsuit for a long time, but the way the legal system works is the have to be "served" and there has to be "proof of service". If you think you're innocent, Coldplay, then tell your attorneys to go fetch the papers themselves.
Even if Coldplay deliberately ripped off this song, it still doesn't matter. Joe Satriani is a nobody and he should be on his knees thanking Coldplay for even drawing attention to him.
