Well, reports are now saying that Cowell did indeed lend the American Idol winner some financial aid. And not only that, but he wanted to keep the good deed a secret .
It wasn't even a publicity stunt!

This is what you are supposed to do. I wouldn't have lended her the money, I would have just given it to her, which I suspect is what he is really doing. If you have the money to help someone, especially someone you have mentored, or have done business with, you should be using it to do just that, help them!!! In this industry, they allow so many people to fall unnecessarily, instead of standing up like Donald Trump (he helped Ed McMann ) or say…Simon Cowell, standing up here for Fantasia. God Bless these guys for doing what so many in Hollywood, and society as a whole, have refused to do, a moral duty to their peers…and others, sometimes…most of the time, to and for, complete strangers…in need.

While I respect Simon for what he did, maybe he should just let Fantasia suffer the consequences of her actions. In my business, I have seen many uneducated individuals suddenly make it big (particularly athletes), but have no idea how to manage their newfound money. You would be surprised how many celebrities have been in foreclosure for this reason. I say let Fantasia learn a valuable lesson… or its going to happen again and again. Check the court system once… see how any dumb rich celebrities get sued because they don't pay their bills

It's all publicity. Simon could have donated his money to an orphanage or some foundation. His money could be of good use and benefit more people. But he has to gave his money to a monkey who thinks she can live like a queen with a hit record in the age of "free" music. I got no sympathy for people living beyond their means.
