Jennifer Hudson Picks Up A Gig To Perform "Special Duet"

2008 ended on a rough note for Jennifer Hudson, with the tragic murder of her mother, brother, and nephew. But 2009 seems to be on an upswing, with the singer's big return to the spotlight.

In addition to a string of Grammy-related events, Jennifer is set to perform at a Recording Academy party honoring Clive Davis tonight.

Whitney Houston and the Kings of Leon are also on the bill for the evening.

And according to Davis himself, Hudson will be performing a surprise duet "that people won't see elsewhere."

Could it be with Leona????

The murder of your mother, brother, and sister's son is a far more than a "rough note." What an inane description of a true living hell. Jennifer Hudson and her family will be learning to live with these senseless deaths for the rest of their lives. Jennifer's sheer survival is a major inspiration. Her career is much less important.
