Veteran actor James Whitmore passed away on Friday at his home in Malibu, CA.

The Tony and Emmy award winner was part of the extraordinary cast of the flick The Shawshank Redemption.

He was 87-years old.

      He was always good, but his best was a movie titled, Black Like Me. He played a white guy injected with a serum, that turned his skin color dark. This was in the 60s and was very powerful.

      I have such fond memories of James Whitmore from movies as far back as the early 40's. When I saw his picture, my heart sank. God Bless You, Mr. Whitmore…and thank you.
