Granted, she may not be able to hit all the notes she used to, but she still sounds DAMN GOOD. And she definitely sounds better and better and she sings more.

      I went to high school with Whitney in NJ and her mom lived across from my parents in Verona, NJ and she looks better than she has in years. Bobby Brown was toxic for her. Thank God she was able to finally get away from him. It is too bad she lost some of the best years of her life due to that scum.

      I am satisfied with this performance. As I was with many of her past performances in particular (Kuala Lumpur) and (Morrocco). I've accepted Whitney Houston and her voice for what it is today.

      And WE all have been patiently waiting for the release of her 7th Studio album — I say bring it on ARISTA/J RECORDS — DROP IT ON ME…..DROP IT ON ME………..

      Whitney Houston is the best. No matter what they say about me I know I'm a child of GOD and he loves me. JESUS loves me this I know for the bible tells me so (Dianne Sawyer interview).

      Um…Sorry, but that wasn't anything like the old Nippy.
      She was talk-singing her way through just about everything…something she has done for the last 10 years. It sounds as if she can't hit ANY of the notes she used to. The power is certainly gone as well as her upper range. I will still buy her new album, but this has just confirmed what I feared, that her voice has been majorly affected by what she has went through and that is a true shame.

      15 seconds is all it took to see that she can't sing a lick. I am glad she is healthy and that people are being supportive, but to buy into any idea of the voice being there is just DENIAL.

      I was hoping that Whitney would come back, but this performance was truly awful. I was bored within 15 seconds. Big pauses between every word. So self indulgent. Apparently she hasn't lost her infamous ego. She may be able to release an album, but I don't think she'll ever be able to tour again. She destroyed her voice and nothing can reverse that.

She didn't sing so much as talked and sang a few bars of this and that..she sounds OK, but the fact is that smoking crack for that many years will permanently damage your vocal chords and she is living proof…the voice that she once had will never come back. It's a shame because she will always be just a shell of her former self. I wish her the best though.

But i am sure she will be able to find new technologies and backup vocals to enhance her voice. So sad that she is a fragment of what she could have become - without drugs!       This was nothing more than a night club/soul train 'performance'. How utterly sad that Whitney allowed herself to come to this. Short of a miracle, her career is still over, and it's sad. Her best chance for any kindof 'comeback' is for an exceptional song to be written for her and a voice coach hired to get her up to par - w/e that is now. Worth a shot.

      It's clear that Whitney is glad to be back singing. I must say that her voice seems to be only a shadow of it's former glory. That said, there really is no reason to criticize her for trying to do what she loves. She messed up her voice by making poor choices, and I'm sure she knows that. But are we going to rag on her until she goes back to drugs full time and od's, then rhapsodize about her after she's gone like we do Billie Holiday? Although, I was never a huge fan of her music, I do wish her well.
