Ticketmaster Shadiness Is International

Last week, Bruce Springsteen's fans got caught in Ticketmaster's seemingly shady practice of barring customers from buying face value tickets and then directing them to a 'sister site' that sells 'scalped' tickets at a higher price.

Well, it looks like Ticketmaster is pulling the same shizzle up in Canada and some angry customers have banded together and filed a $500+ million suit against the corporate giant.

Let's hope they get what they deserve!

TM did the same thing w/the figure skating world championships this year (in LA!). Now the only place you can buy any single tickets is at their sister site (and the links from the TM site to it have disappeared in the past few days).

TM did the same thing w/the figure skating championships in march! The moment single tickets went on sale, they all became "unavailable" on TM and could only be found at massively jacked-up prices on its sister site.

People need to stop buying second hand tickets all together !(TicketsNow, Stubhub, Ticket Exchange, ect) ! Instead of buying a scalped ticket, I'd rather buy something else to support the artist/event.

SO true! For the britney spears concert in toronto coming up you couldn't even get face value tickets ever! All of the high profile artists they do this to now…..They have a "ticket exchange" program that is selling her seats for up to $2000. Ya, like who could afford that or well, who would pay that…thanks for making it so no one can go to shows anymore!! B**tards.

Yep, I noticed that when purchasing tickets for the Eagles performance in Tampa. Not only does TM direct customers to the "sister site," a parking charge (???) was added to the cost of each ticket even though those bitches don't know if I walked, skated, or took the bus.

#1 if you dont like how much the tickets cost then dont fucking buy them… dumbasses. its that simple. these people aint mad that the tickets cost that much, their just mad because they PAID that much.

#2 as for the canadian thing… what ticketmaster is doing ISN'T illegal. They get away with this because the website ticketsnow, in which they direct you to is based out of a state in the US in which ticket scalping is legal.

Ticketmaster has such bullshit fees. They made a $25 ticket I bought cost $40. They charged me for allowing me to print out the ticket I already purchased, for instance.

Ticketmasters "sister site" ticketsnow, is a total scam… I tried to buy tickets to a concert, and was taken to the other site and charged 300/ ticket when face value was 42… The cost was all in fee's, etc and tacked on after I purchased the tickets… Glad people are suing !

That's for sure. I remember waiting in line for 7 hours once for Pink Floyd tickets at Ticketmaster and got stuck in the back row. My brother bought scalped tickets on the day of the concert and was in the fourth row.

Everyone is just NOW catching onto Ticketmaster being shady? Ticketmaster manipulates pricing and if an investigation occurs all their dirty stinky tricks will come to light. They have the same ethics of all the banks that made our economy go sucky.

My stupid ass husband paid $161.00 for Metallica tickets recently that originally went for $63.50. Hell, the idiot bought 2 and with all the charges on top of the ticket cost it was over $400. Thank goodness for Ticketmaster as they showed me what a complete dick my husband is, spending money meant for his family on such nonsense. I warned him it sounded suspicious but what do I know … I guess I do know, next time he should listen. Except there won't be a next time.
