American Idol winner Fantasia is striking down claims that Secretly Sensitive Simon Cowell bailed her out financially - helping avoid the foreclosure of one of her two North Carolina homes.

She says, "That's not true. I've been working hard for five years. Don't believe everything you hear."

It is sort of hard to believe that Simon might actually, you know, have a heart.

So because Simon Cowell doesn't bail out every irresponsible musician that crosses his path, he doesn't have a heart? It's not his fault Fantasia can't pay her own bills, nor is it his responsibility (or the taxpayers!) to do so for her. I realize that he's not the warmest of individuals, but the qualifier for if one is heartless or not should not be whether or not they give people they hardly know more money than a lot of people will earn in a lifetime to save their sorry ass from their own incompetence. There are millions of people in the world far less privileged and far MORE deserving of that kind of help than some washed up reality show contestant who pissed away her fortune.
