Two 'friends' of Rihanna have revealed that Sunday was probably not the first time Chris Brown assaulted the Umbrella singer.
In early December, the 'friends' noticed that the pop starlet had very visible bruises on her neck and when they asked her if she was OK, RiRi simply answered, "We broke up again."
The 'friends' said they didn't pursue the issue further.

Well if this was not the 1st time he put his hands on her n she continied to stay with him, no offense but that is allowing things to happen. Not saying she deserved this but this is a cycle. Sad, many ppl who have been abused in relationships don't always come out of it alive….
Women are more prone to be in abusive relationships due to their natural loving and forgiving nature. When you love someone, you are more willing to overlook their faults and excuse their actions. I know that I have been hit before in a relationship. And I excused it because he had his own personal issues, so he "didn't mean to hurt me." I bet rihanna did the same. It is hard to get out on the first hit, especially when you have been together for a while.
I would love to see a cultural shift to relfect this. Where women are stronger and don't make excuses for men and their poor behaviors. We can't always be compassionate. Sometimes we have to look out for ourselves first. First hit and you're out. No apologies, no nothing.

I dated a guy like that when I was 19. They are real insecure. They're always wanting "proof" you really "love" them. They're real jealous, real, real possessive, to the point they're almost stalking and spying on you. They don't allow too much arguing or disagreeing. DO NOT speak up for yourself or try to defend yourself. They go apeshit. Here's the thing, tho. They cheat. Guys like this cheat. And they go nuts if you even smile and say hello to a guy. They also go crazy about anyone you knew before you met them. Chris Brown sounds like he is unstable, dishonest, and he is definitely an abuser.
Maybe Rihanna's "friends" did try to convince her to break up with him. We don't know. And sometimes, if someone is beating you, if you keep it hidden, and play it down, it's easier to deny it's happening. Especially to yourself. But guys like this do not change. This is a huge wake up call for her. He could have done her permanent damage. Maybe he has. She can't hide this and the thing is, now her management is in it too, because I hate to say it, but this is costing them money. She had to cancel a gig in Indonesia. Having come from an abusive home and also watching my friend get beat up by her husband what I've learnt is this: no matter what you say to your friend she will never leave the abuser until she is ready! Don't fault RiRi's friends, I'm sure they gave their opinion but women who are abused don't believe they can do any better so there is nothing you can say to change that. Yeah I was just talking about this last night. I've been in this situation before and it usually doesn't start off like this. My ex started it with a slap to my face. Each time, it got worse and worse until the very last time I let him put his hands on me.. which was on my NECK. So I wouldn't be surprised if he's done it before, maybe not to this extent but still. Hopefully this does reach out to people in abusive relationships and helps them somehow. And I agree with Staci, you can't help those that don't want to help themselves in these cases. Hopefully if nobody would had called 911, hopefully SHE would had called or at least came out about all this. I hope this caused her to "snap out of it" as I call it.

Women in abusive relationships will throw their best friends to the curb to go back to a guy who beat the shit out of her. My best friend did just that. I picked her up in the back of an ambulance, face swollen and chucks of hair missing. She went back to him, this was after a long sting of crazy behavior. She knew I wouldn't be able to stand by her anymore. She threw away myself and about 7 other close friends who'd helped her and covered for her to be with him again. It's inconcievable.

don't talk about rhianna in the same breath as other women who are abused. must women that are abused are separated from their friends and families. they are basically prisoners in their own houses and do not have lives of their own. they are scared of the man and fear him and think it is their own fault(that could be rhi). they normally have no access to money or the outside world and have no self worth Maybe rhi does have a poor self image, but she seems connected to her family, has money and bodyguards, so, if she really wanted help, she would have been able to stand up and say-these bruises are from chris brown instead of waiting for it to escalate. she is not a nicole brown simpson who was not believed over her husband, oj simpson, the former good ole boy
So it's been 4 days and so far NO statement from either camp… this really makes me wonder does Rihanna really wants Chris to pay for what he did? Is she that innocent???
The only real facts we have are:
- Rihanna has injuries (not sure where or how severe they are) but visible enough so her publicist needed to come with an excuse.
- Both Rihanna and Chris cancelled their scheduled presentations.
- The time and place of the beef.
- Radio stations, Wrigley and Got Milk cancelled their deals with C. Brown… unless they know something we don't know I don't see why they where so quick to condeem Chris.
Hitting a woman or just any other human being is NOT acceptable, the victim shutting about it? mmm NOT acceptable too… however this sour story turns they are both equally responsible so far, this is really fishy and I am sick of the *updates*, just a bunch of nobodies saying whatever they wanna say and blogs and others posting this theories… this is getting old and boring!
