Okay, okay, we get PETA's point here, but……
We're not sure if equating purebred show dogs to human hate crimes is really going to help their cause.
The animal activists protested outside the Westminster Dog Show this week. Well, at least they're showing their faces instead of trying to hide their identities.
That's a step up from real KKK!

Hey, way to minimize the hate crimes, violence and murders perpetrated by the KKK, PETA!
I don't think the two are comparable and am disgusted by this.

dont hate! i love peta and their message. their crazy ways just get ppl talking about it. love them. sometimes they do it at the expense of people. an u kno what… props to them. an animal will never betray you — people will. an animal is always happy to see u, people arent. so fuk ppl. animals aren't malicious. people are. usually their messages piss people off, and good for them. people abuse animals every day. thats part of their message.
I love animals, don't eat meat, don't buy fur, will not eat fish that is endangered, I recycle, I do all I can…but I cannot stand PETA. They take everything too far and I think are detrimental and a hindrance to the cause.

It makes more sense if you try to put yourself in their position. They believe that animals have feelings and deserve a dignified life with respect, most people don't, but if you see it from their point of view it makes sense that they might be pissed about things like this. The KKK is probably not the best comparison, the holocaust would be better.

Are you fucking insane? What is your problem? It's too much to compare the terrors of the KKK to animal abuse, but the Holocaust is in the same league? Or is it that the terrors of the KKK don't capture animal abuse as accurately as the Holocaust? Either way, you are way out of line in comparing animal abuse (which I sympathize with) to either the Holocaust or Jim Crow.

Personally I know someone whose dog (a really friendly nice dog) was sitting on the couch next to him watching a movie & out of no where the dog turned & attacked him, biting his face several times.
For PETA to target a group of people based on race, this is a sensative racial issue that will hurt & offend many innocent people who dont wear fur & who have never hurt an animal!

Look, I've got a family member who is an AKC breeder, and 3 family members who are vets. One who has handled animals for 50 years. I ended up with more then a few pets because people abandon them, which is a tragedy. But it is NOT the KKK. And -real- registered breeders live by the oath that they breed animals rarely and take good care of them. I'd stop worrying so much about AKC show breeders, and worry about real travesties… people who breed huge lots of animals as often as they can, or fight animals, etc. PETA's over the top and outrageous tactics are not out of the norm. Find Penn & Teller's "BS" episode of PETA. It's an eye opener that more people should see. PETA loves this boycott crap, they love to protest animal shelters that put down animals. Instead, PETA should be finding homes for animals and going after real criminals instead of lame protests with very bad comparisons.

You are aware that PETA euthanizes most of the animals they take in, right? So, really, who is in the wrong? PETA believes that ownership is exploitation. Anyone who's ever seen a show dog or met a show dog owner/handler knows that these dogs are cared for better than some people care for their kids. PETA doesn't think that having pets is right. They want to set all those animals that we love and welcome into our family free, where they'll be killed by other predators in the wild.
You really want to help animals? Support no kill shelters, adopt a pet, and help our society find an end to puppy mills. The people who are part of the AKC, who show and breed their dogs are responsible breeders. It's the mills, the back yard breeders, and other irresponsible pet owners who need to be stopped.

I just don't get the comparison! Besides, those show dogs are so spoiled. They get the best medical care, food, and even spa treatments. Trust me, I used to work at a Vets office. Are they saying it's segregation because the show is divided up into groups…i.e. sporting, terrier, etc.???

PETA had done more to HURT dog welfare then any other single group ever could. in years they've brought in over 20 million in donations they've given away exactly 5k to shelters and rescues. over 90% of dogs and cats brought into their Virginia facility are euthanized. their ultimate agenda - not well published, but can certainly be found in leadership speeches - is that we have NO COMPANION ANIMALS WHATSOEVER. they routninely show up at suburban dog show and release the animals among many other travesties that i could go on about forever.
