New Details From The Police Report!
Things are looking pretty bad for Bobby Chris Brown, but not as bad as they could be - legally, anyway.
While it's almost certain that Brown will be charged with felony domestic battery (the photos of Rihanna's injuries are said to be quite damning), whether or not he will be hit with the more serious charge of criminal threat is not as sure.
According to police reports, it was a text message from another woman that initiated the argument, during which Chris began hitting her. At that point, Rihanna ordered Chris to drive her home and "faked a call" to a friend, asking for the presence of police upon her arrival. Enraged, Brown threatened to kill her, and began hitting her again, much more aggressively. Somehow Rihanna removed the keys from the ignition and threw them into the street.
That's when Brown fled and police showed up. Rihanna told the cops that the incident was the culmination of escalating violence in an abusive relationship.
Since the basis for the criminal threat charge is Rihanna's one statement, the District Attorney's office sent the case back to authorities to gather more substantial evidence. According to a law enforcement source, "It's kinda weak, and the D.A. is not going to prosecute a high profile case like this unless it's solid."
Whether or not Brown is charged with criminal threat, however, is not going to save his tarnished reputation!

Although, he did flee, maybe that is why.. but i do know that if they both had been there at the time of the police arrival, Brown def. would have gone to jail, at least for the night.

I can't believe how police can question the criminality of Chris Brown's actions. I am currently taking a course in Violence Against Women and its appalling at how far behind the justice system still is in terms of women's rights and serving and giving respect to women to the degree that it is given to men. Especially in a high-profile case like this, you would think that the police would like to give a good impression to the women of the country who have also been in a similar situation. Instead, they still serve the interests of the patriarchy that pays them. Violence Against Women is the leading cause of death in women across the country, yet no one notices because it is a "sensitive" issue.
To all of you who say "enough of this story", what you don't realize is that we DON'T have enough exposure to this type of story, as violence goes on in so many homes across the country, yet no one takes notice. It is always blamed on the victim. For once, I would like to see a story where the real criminal (the MAN - not 100% of the time, but the HIGH MAJORITY of the time) is put away for good, or at least a very long time. The judicial system needs to, for once, make the aggressors who have victimized women get what they deserve.
I am not man-hating, this is just the reality of the situation that few people in the WORLD actually realize.
DAMN… there's nothing NEW on that story… it's just more of the same and NOTHING official yet… I really hope that Chris is in Vegas partying hard and Rihanna is back on being a real bitch… this makes no sense and most likely we will never know what really happened… I give them a couple of weeks to be back together… most likely this is not the 1st time he hitted her and won't be the last… IF as reports say that's the case then they are BOTH EQUALLY GUILTY… bad for them that this leaked to the press…

Domestic violence is serious, especially with people so young and with complicated lives. Unless you live in the house.. you don't know what goes on behind closed doors. A friend had them both on a flight to Paris not long ago. Rihanna was very reserved - a potential sign of the "hold" he may have on her. This needs to be fully investigated and he needs to take responsibility for his actions within the dictates of the law.

Chris Brown will get probation, end of story. In order for felony domestic battery to stick, the victim must be the assailant's spouse, or parent of a child they share. Since they aren't married nor have a child, Chris will be charged with simple assault/battery. It's a misdemeanor, not a felony. If his record is clean other than this, he won't be punished with jail-time. He'll get probation and community service. Legally, Chris is just fine unless he has a criminal record, which is unlikely since he's 19 and only crimes that occurred after he was 18 will stay on his record (before 18 are removed when a person turns 18).
