Nicole Kidman, Made of Ice But With a Big Heart
As we mentioned earlier this week, the deadly fires in Victoria, Australia have caused so much damage and death down under.
In a kind gesture for her homeland, Nicole Kidman and her hubby, Keith Urban, have just donated A$500,000 (about $300,000 US) to the bushfire appeal.
The giving couple is currently out of their country, but they appeared via a satellite link during a live telethon by the Red Cross.
Urban said, "Our hearts go out tonight to all the families that are dealing with the loss of loved ones and having to rebuild their lives again."
As for Kidman, she added, "As Australians, I think the biggest thing is that no matter where you are in the world, we support each other and we rally. That's why we wanted to show our support and we would like to donate A$500,000 on behalf of our family to the families that need it now."
Currently, more than 1,000 homes have been destroyed, 181 people have died as well as countless animals, and hundreds more have been injured.
And, sadly, police now believe the fires were set by arsonists.

I've always felt that Nicole Kidman was a very talented actress and many times I paid for tickets to her films that I wasn't otherwise interested in watching, just to see and enjoy her performances.

However, she is a real life mental twit, as proven by her past marriage to the celebutard, mental midget, talentless lunatic and closeted Tom Cruise. PLUS all of Nicole's live interviews when screenwriters were NOT around to feed words inti her mouth, called into question her IQ.

Nicole's unselfish donation of A$500K to the Bushfire Appeal, significantly raises her status, even higher, in my opinion. Nicole is still a mental twit, but her HUGE heart is in the right place.
I think Nichole is way softer than you think Perez. I love them for donating so much, they really need. Aussie's do seem to support each other no matter where they are.
Big deal. They can afford it. Its all PR for her anyway - couldn't give an anonymous donation (like many other celebs) - has to go on TV and tell the world how generous she is… So transparent (just like the Jolie-Pitts).

Of course my favorite tid-bit about these two is how just weeks after their wedding KEITH was admitted to DRUG RE-HAB. Betcha TOM TOM used that to his full advantage where custody of mixed breed CONNOR and big big big ISABELLA was concerned !
The bush fires are really bad here in Australia…I'm saddened because Victoria is battling bush fires and everyone here seems to have forgotten about the destructive floods in Queensland (2 states above Vic), which may have not claimed as many lives, but still have destroyed houses, etc.
The Red Cross has raised Au$65million….but who knows how much the bush fire victims are going to receive after the Government and Red Cross Execs have skimmed off the top….it's complete crap.
Charities are scam-artists these days, you cant trust anyone when it comes to money….same with Insurance companies not paying out.
I just hope they do the right thing and help BOTH states out. Nicole and Keith did a good thing…they could've just ignored it…publicity stunt or not, it still was a good thing to do.

And they did mention the other aussie actors/actress who were helping. Russell crowe helped produce, cameron daddo went around LA to record video msgs, and miranda kurr with orlando bloom came in to answer phones
