Ticketmaster Hit With ANOTHER Lawsuit!!! This One For $250 Million

ticketmaster21__opt1.jpg

Ticketmaster has been slapped with another class-action lawsuit, this time for $250 million.

Filed Thursday in an Ontario (Canada) Superior Court, the lawsuit alleges that the fees that Ticketmaster piles up on the face value of tickets violates Ontario's anti-scalping legislation.

This comes after a $500 million lawsuit alleging that Ticketmaster conspired to maneuver customers away from the main site to its ticket-brokering website, which sells tickets at a much higher price.

Because of the wording in Ticketmaster' small print, tickets for shows in Canada are protected specifically by Ontario's laws.

Albert Lopez, a spokesman for Ticketmaster Entertainment Inc., said, "There is categorically no movement of stock, inventory if you will, from Ticketmaster into the resale market at TicketsNow.com" and refused to comment on either of the lawsuits.

Whatevs!

We already know that Ticketmaster is evil!

Good, fuck Ticketmaster. I use to work for them, they are full of shit just like their service fees which are ridiculous. I had to buy tickets the other day and even though it was done online I STILL had to pay over $15 for each ticket for "service fees" What the fuck?? Where's the service assholes??

When you order your tickets through their website -Kepp in mind, you are doing everything yourself, no one is assisting you, this is what you can expect to get charged, I recommend to go to the box office.

      Tickets
      ADULT Tickets
      Total Convenience Charge(s) US $79.50 x 2
      US $11.95 x 2
      Order Processing Charge US $5.60
      TicketFast® US $2.50
      TOTAL CHARGES US $191.00

Who goes to concerts anymore? THey were a rip off years and years ago.
And now, you know the concert footage will go straight to dvd or online,
      so why pay hundreds?

I hit market on ticketmaster by mistake.. and paid over a thousand for Billy Joel/Elton John tickets.. I had no idea they were selling scalped tickets for a HUGE marketed up price. I always wanted to see these guys and thought prices where high… but got a wild hair up my ass and said "what the hell". Companies buy all the good seats up front and resell them with Ticketmaster….. So, to get a good seat you have to really pay a HIGH price… Ticketmaster is EVIL. for reals……..

    13. 13

These assholes ruined the concert business. I hope they get put out of business!!

    14. 14

Why can't people just buy a damn ticket instead of paying a million fees?! So annoying… everyone wants money for nothing!!!!! Fuck ticketmaster.

    15. 15

i don't totally understand that but ticket prices in Canada on ticketmaster.ca are outrageouss….a $30 ticket becomes $60 by the time the payment page comes up.

    16. 16

Ticketmaster does suck! Kings of Leon go on sale tomorrow and half the shows aren't even up! bastards…

Why do you have to say Ontario (CANADA)? Are Americans so ignorant that they don't know where Ontario is? It's one of the most populated provinces in Canada, and home to one of the largest cities (Toronto) and the country's capital (Ottawa). There are many Canadian readers here, but you don't ever see mentions of Ohio (UNITED STATES). We don't need clarification when reading about a U.S. state.. why do Americans need it spelled out for them that Ontario is in Canada? Geez, there's only 10 provinces… too much to remember?

This happened to me! I went to buy tickets for the Papa Roach, Buckcherry, Avenged Sevenfold, and Saving Abel show, and on the radio and the ticketmaster site it said the tickets were 38 dollars. Than when I clicked on it to buy them, it put me on the "sister" site, where I could only buy them for 98 dolllars! So I didn't end up going to the show. It's a pretty big jump from it being 80 dollars for my boyfriend and I to go, to it being almost 200. They did this same shit to me, and I didn't get to see the show because of it. Ticketmaster = Dicks. I should sue them too.

It's so hard to trust anything (or anyone) anymore. :(

Good I hope Ticketbastard has to pay out in both lawsuits.

    21. 21

      Fu*k Ticketmasters!

We bought 4 tickets for the Roots @ state college "all ages" paid full $ + fee…
Ticketmasters moved concert to 21+ bar venue…we can't get in!! Ticketmasters kept $15 per ticket fee. Ticketmasters gets free $60 for fu*king us over.

      BASTARDS

Good! I used to work for this company and I HATED it. They were too cheap to put in new phone lines as their business grew, so half the time no one could understand what the customer was saying, it was if they were talking under water. We also had to do "upsells" which meant that we had to ask if the customer wanted anything from magazines to hotel information. If we skipped that, and got caught, we'd get sent home early. We also had no control over all the fees, the customer order wouldn't be completed unless we did. The other thing I HATED about Ticketmaster was that their computers are old, out-dated and SLOW. If the computer crashed, we'd loose the customers tickets. I hope the FEDS look into "Reserve America" as that is a company owned by Ticketmaster and just as awfull.
