At Least 49 Killed In Deadly Upstate New York Airplane Crash

Such a horrible tragedy.

Continental Airlines Express flight 3407 (operated by Colgen Air) from Newark, NJ, to Buffalo, NY, crashed into a home in Clarence, NY - a suburb of Buffalo - around 10:20 P.M. Eastern on Thursday evening.

According to early reports from the Buffalo News, the dead include 44 passengers, four crew members and a person on the ground.

Crew members had reported mechanical problems as they approached Buffalo Niagara International Airport.

No reason is known at this time as to what caused the horrific crash, which started a huge fire in the home.

Our thoughts go out to the families of all those lost.

So heartbreaking!

i wonder how many iraqi babies died for the fuel it took to fly that yankee plane?

    15. 115

why would you idiots who dont even live here argue about upstate new york anyway? LAME! take it from the people who actually live here like me, Buffalo is considered UPSTATE NEW YORK!

Re: Perez is a Balding Hasbeen – you make me sick. 50 families lost someone they love..including me. This story needs to be news, not just gossip. If it's worthy of the cover of the new york times and the cnn homepage then it should definitely be updated on Perez.
