Kenny Chesney On His Quickie Marriage: "I Pushed Renee Away!"
In the new issue of Playboy, Kenny Chesney talks candidly about the demise of his four month marriage in 2005 to actress Renee Zellweger.
They met in January and married in May!
It had doom written all over it!!
He acknowledges that he pushed Renee away and it looks like being hunted by the paparazzi had something to do with it:
"I never really had any kind of attention from the paparazzi. It went from zero to the complete other end of the spectrum. … I thought it would be like that all the time. … I panicked. … I ran. … I pushed her away. … I just didn't want to be married to her anymore."
Chesney also expressed anger at the assertion that he's 'gay', a rumor that started floating around because marriage annulment papers state 'fraud' as the reason for its termination:
"I talked to my attorney and her attorney. In order for us to get an annulment, the legal papers could claim either physical abuse, which wasn't true, or three or four other things that also weren't true. The best thing we could put in there was fraud. So I said, 'All right, do it. Whatever…'…What guy who loves girls wouldn't be angry about that shit? I didn't sign up for that. I think people need to live their lives the way they want to, but I'm pretty confident in the fact that I love girls."
Lesson learned, don't rush into marriage, right?

*******They got divorced because their driver rolled the bus on Kenny. The driver reluctantly told Renee about Kenny's enjoyment of the company of men. She hit the roof and started doing a little checking. He runs to the house in St. Johns's. Well their divorced now.
The guy who owns Nashville's largest gay dance club, Play, claims to have walked in on Kenny taking a pounding at a private party he was attending. Don't know of it's true, but thats his story.

My husband and I eloped in Vegas and only knew each other 3 months! We've been married almost 8 years! So dont make comments about people getting married and rushing into things, just because they didnt date for years. You can date somebody for 3 years and that still doesnt guarantee it'll work out!

Cop out. Renee is better off single than having a man who cuts and runs at the first bump, and not even of her making. She's famous, and so is he, and just what did he expect when the media is always looking for the next 'Royal Couple?' Just look at the attention paid to Brad and Ange, or Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. On the flip side, he at least is acknowledging it, which indicates some introspection. Renee is a sweetheart, and with a brain to match, and she deserves much more, IMHO.
