what difference does it make? when obama signs into law the FOCA bill, all abortion will be legal. 12 year olds can get them without parental consent. you can get one at 9 months. doctors/nurses that refuse to perform them on ethical issues will be terminated. hospitals that refuse to perform them on ethical issues will not receive funding. there will no longer be any guidelines or restrictions. anyone will be able to perform them…anywhere.

Re: Cottonquinn – Grow up. You're just a bad cliche of a talk radio listening robot.

Re: Cottonquinn – You have absolutely no credibility. You can't even express your "thoughts" without threatening violence and hurling insults. Whatever merits there are to your argument are utterly lost in your vile, bitter delivery. Seek help.

I love how you feel that you can speak about everyone as if you know them by the state they're from. What a narrow minded piece of crock! Tennessee and North Dakota don't equal hillbilly! Tennessee was named by Forbes as one of the top 5 places to have a career and raise a family right along with New York and Texas. Where the fuck did you spawn from anyway?

I graduated from a normal public school, just like the rest of the U.S. And I bet you weren't that old when you decided to give away your virginity. Besides… as far as you know I could have been raped. You can't judge someone without all the facts so keep your mouth what your mind is… closed!

Re: swd112083 – Good point referring to Casey Anthony's case. Those parents are just insane and would not even let Casey give Caylee up for adoption after having her.

Anyway, you seem to be here just for attention and to get a rise out of people. No one has seemed to appreciate anything you've said and you only comment on the people you think are "bible hugging Mcjesus Freaks." Get bent and stop tryin to piss people off who actually have morals.

It wouldn't be okay for you to go throw some pregnant woman down the stairs (whether or not you wanted her to) or even for herself to do it. It'd be considered attempted murder (x2) for you, and she'd be put in the loony bin. But if she pays for someone to vacuum out the innocent child… that's okay. What hypocritical narrow mindedness. And they call themselves doctors. HAH! Part of the hipocratic oath they take is to cause no harm. Killing something that can move, and has a heart beat… to any other doctor makes harm an understatement.

No meat! No Fur! But kill babies? WTF?!? Even animals are more able to defend themselves than fetuses. Wow. Just shut up… you make yourself sound more and more STUPID with EVERY post.

Re: omgzwtfbbq – Either you are educated enough or you just read other responses that stated the same fact.

I hope other states will follow. Perez, you're a moron.

    9. 509

I always find it odd that people automatically make this a religious issue. It is a public health issue. In a perfect world, anyone who found themselves with an unplanned or unwanted pregnancy would simply put that child up for adoption. However, outlawing abortion does not equal more adoptable babies. It equals dead teenage girls, severely deformed or premature babies, and suicide. As with other public health issues (vaccinations, etc), you have the right in this country to choose not to participate. YOU can choose not to have an abortion just as you can choose not to immunize yourself or your children.

    10. 510

i think this is wonderful!!!! abortion is murder and its about time a state pushed this through :) how about just keep your legs shut and then you wont have to think of murder as your selfish option…im disappointed in you perez

    11. 511

The vast majority of supposed "pro-life" people responding to this post are not interested in the well-being of children or mothers. They want to punish women with pregnancy. This is evident by their use of degrading, derogatory language, blathering on about women "keeping their legs shut." Well guess what…THEY DON'T!!! You are not going to change that by making abortion illegal. It has NEVER worked. Abortion has ALWAYS existed…it is only reasonable for a society to address the INEVITABLE occurrence of unwanted behavior in the safest manner possible. Get off your moral highhorse and try to help!

WTF happened to SEPARATION of church and state? This is so putting us back 50 years…

    13. 513

why don't they take the women rights to vote and how bout the blacks
since the white man always has the upper hand in this fucking country

Re: Spleja – yes I understand that it fails sometimes. What I'm saying is, that when you decide to have sex you should be accepting and acknowledging the consequences of that choice. Babies are a direct result of sex, everyone knows it. If you don't want children, maybe you should think about a vasectomy or having your tubes tied. I just think that people tend to see abortion as an easy out. If that wasn't an option anymore, people would have to think more about the choices they make and take the right steps to make sure that they can deal with the consequences. I got pregnant at 19, and I thought I never wanted to have children, but abortion was never an option for me. Young women who have abortions, like 15,16, 17 year old girls cannot not understand the psychological aspect of it, this is a decision you must live with FOREVER, something you can NEVER take back. These girls and women aren't counseled before hand, they aren't prepared mentally for something so psychologically damaging. I think if you choose to have an abortion, then you should be sterelized…..no second chances.

    15. 515

How freaking exciting!! Good job ND!

    16. 516

      Well said, Landonsmama!

    17. 517

Re: Landonsmama – You are generalizing too much, I hope you know. And wow, a little crazy. My friend had to have an abortion because she could not afford the extended hospital stay (she has a repressed immune system) and her birth control failed. It's not black or white and neither is the world or humanity.

Silly to think that you can just expect people to go without sex when it is one of our strongest instincts, much like hunger.

I am all for better education and free birth control.

    21. 521

This is good. Hopefully this is the piece of legislation that will take this matter to the Supreme court and get this matter cleared up for good. I don't believe in abortion as a form of birth control. I do believe it does have to be the woman's decision to have one.

    22. 522

Re: kimchi – I'm not pushing my morals on others…..I'm saying that, like with all things in life, there are consequences for your actions. I'm not going to tell woman to "keep their legs shut" (I think this is an EXTREMELY derogatory and ignorant statement) - I'm telling all women and men out there to take responsibility for their decisions. You can apply this to most things in life. For example, if you drink and drive, you may not get arrested or get in an accident. However, all it takes is one time for severe consequences to happen.

After all, most people have sex! I think it's completely natural, but as I mentioned earlier, the only 100% effective means of birth control is abstinence, so people should be prepared to deal with a pregnancy if that should happen. I haven't had to experience it, but I'm sure choosing to have an abortion is an incredibly difficult decision. So by eliminating the option to have an abortion, women have other CHOICES - adoption or having the baby.
