      This asshat will continue to be elected. He has already been removed form his judicial committee seat in the past, he used his other buddies in the senate to remove the senate president. The new president gave the position RIGHT BACK TO HIM!! This is an outrage for the gay friendly community here in Utah (we are many) Look at the comments in the links it is not one bigot, it is all the bigots that agree with him and treat him as a hero. :(

      This "discipline" means NOTHING! Mike Whaddups, the president of the Utah senate said "this will free Sen. Buttars to be more at ease when speaking his opinions" I applaud Perez for bringing attention to this but please do not think that this is justice! It will not be justice until there are enough sane people in his district to VOTE HIM OUT!! Please read the article linked and the comments to see how terrible and sad this issue really is!!

      As a Utahn and Mormon, I wish you wouldn't put us all together because this man certainly doesn't speak for me at all. I was an active proponent for Prop 8, meaning if I lived in California, I would've voted NO. And while my church was paying money for Prop 8, I contributed against it. Yes, it is easy to stereotype, which so many do about gays and lesbians, which I'm sure you don't appreciate, so please don't be so quick to group everyone together.

      California is in the crapper and you still want to fight this agenda as if it belongs at the top of the list. Who care's if you can legally marry if you can't even afford to live in California because of the amount of taxes you will have to pay. You will be forced to fight this agenda in another state.
