So who does America look to in times of troubles?
According to the Harris Poll, which gathered data online from Americans over the age of 18 with an open-ended survey, the heroes list was topped by Barack Obama, Jesus Christ, and Martin Luther King, Jr.
That's good company the new Prez is in!
Those three were followed by, in descending order, Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, Abraham Lincoln, John McCain, John F. Kennedy, Chesley Sullenberger, and Mother Teresa.

we don't know alot about obama, we've only know and seem him for a year, he may make crazy decisions during his 4 years. When bush entered office, everyone was happy weren't they. PS George W. Bush kept us safe for seven years after being attacked. Remember, the first priority of the president of the USA is to keep Americans safe and some that are young may vaguely remember Sept. 11, 2001. The second priority of the president of the USA is the nation's economy. His stimulus package did not include much for national security and the middle-class will be paying for decades to come for the problems involving Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac and Wall Street corruption.
People are not going to feel this way a year from now when the people start realizing that Obama the God has betrayed the country by further looting the US treasury. He's already reneged on his campaign promises. He could have done the right thing by not doing bailouts and letting all those entities go bankrupt because the entitlement generation shouldn't have had all the material items they had anyway. Get ready to be put in FEMA camps and/or killed when you start to protest the gov't when everything starts to be taxed heavily and you have no money left to live on. His latest initiative is to taxed on the number of miles you drive. LA is going to be hit hard on that one suckers. This is to get around driving hybrid cars and high miles per gallon cars. How will this be done…by putting computer chips on your registration stickers.

A bail out was absolutely necessary but today the spending package has a lot of waste in it that simply will not help middle America. For example, it has very, very little in it for small business owners…like 1/2 of 1% when in fact, it is mom and pop businesses that keep the economy and free market going! What president Reagan did was: get everybody's input in the house and senate and shot from the middle. He did NOT raise taxes either!!! These are keys to getting the economy going; not some programs to test for bugs, etc (yes, this is in the spending package which comprises of 1,000 pages). President Obama doesn't need to re-invent the wheel; a lot of it has been done in the past. One of the first strikes against him regarding global relationships was he apologized to some middle eastern leader (came out on the internet) a couple of weeks ago. America does NOT owe any apologies to middle eastern countries. America, in fact, had more soldiers killed with the middle eastern countries than any other country. Not sure I understand his angle except for that he is naive. Remember, his number one priority is to protect and keep American safe and he can only do this with national security and having our military ready, just in case because many countries HATE the USA. Our country is changing right before our eyes…

I have a tremendous amount of respect for Martin Luther King, Jr. and his speeches were captivating and had substance. He was not a salesperson; he wasn't backed by anybody's money or power. He said, 'Let us judge a man by his character, not his color.' Well, he was right! I believe he would have been a great president because of his 'genuine' leadership with no strings attached.

The banks got the money and still didn't lend a dime out to businesses or aid any forclosures. Nobody knows where the money went except to give billions of it to wallstreet and bank excutive bonuses. These instutions needed to fail so people that know how to run banks could come to the forefront and the greed and hubris could be stopped. Instead these short term fixes of spending our way out of the problems are just going to de-value the dollar and send the country into a hyper-inflationary cycle where a tube of toothpaste will be costing $50 and a loaf of bread may cost $20. All these people who bought these expensive homes won't be able to pay the utility and tax bills. They should be putting the money into research and development to find something America can produce and sell to the world and create permanent jobs in this country. Obama is no savior, he needs to get over his pope like celebrity and start doing the right thing.

In these times, there have been companies that have been around for over 100 years that are filing chapter eleven. Lennox is one of them as well as Tiffany and there are others. Many businesses HAVE to borrow from the financial centers and if there was no bail out, what would the owners do to stay afloat? A great example is Nordstrom or Macy's as they may borrow for their upcoming spring line but the picture would be grim if they couldn't borrow. That would put them out and then where would the consumer go to buy good quality clothes? You could say K-mart but people that routinely shop at Nordstrom probably would not shop at K-mart for clothes. We have to consider all businesses that make our economy run; and seven out of 10 are mom & pop businesses. I don't like where we are headed because of the spending package. It won't solve much for middle-class and that is where I stand.
