The Dark Knight Reaches One Billion!!

The Dark Knight has more than lived up to it's hype. The summer blockbuster has exceeded the $1 billion dollar mark at the box office as of Friday!

The Dark Knight is also the highest grossing 2-D IMAX film of all time, earning $64.9 million!!

Ridic!

The Oscar-nominated film sits in 4th place for the top box-office earners with a gross of $1.001 billion, coming behind Titanic ($1.84 billion), The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King ($1.12 billion) and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest ($1.07 billion).

We wonder how many Oscars the 8-time nominated blockbuster will pick up this Sunday??

I think they should do it by number of tickets sold, not by amount of money made. With ticket prices rising, it's the number of tickets sold that really tells how popular a movie is.

well an american billion is different to what the rest of the world classes as a billion. most of the rest of the world goes from hundred millions to thousand millions, which is logical, but americans jump straight onto billions

It is RIDICULOUS that they were not nominated for BEST FILM!
It is absurd that Chris Nolan was not nominated for BEST DIRECTOR, because he deserves to win! He is the Best Director alive today and no one is even close.

The Oscars have become irrelevant…. the nominees this year are substandard and overrated. The academy has proved how out of touch they are.

This year proves they are ridiculously arrogant and ridiculously stupid.
Anyone who agrees should email them. Better to be proactive than inactive.
