    Perez, S. Darko was always produced with the intent of releasing it direct to DVD. However, early word of mouth about this movie has been pretty good that we may see it go for a limited theatrical release (in arthouse theaters) a week or two before the DVD is released.

    And, yes, it's the same actress who played the sister in the original movie — Daveigh Chase. She's also played Samara in The Ring.

    Only Donnie's world end's in the first movie, not the entire one….shows how much Nothatgirl knows about the movie. This enstallment is with that Rohnda Vulmer chick from Big Love….looks like it should've be released in theatres…the preview has good production quality.     First off, all ye movie experts, "Donnie Darko" was in theaters for maybe five minutes. It gained it's cult reputation from VHS and then DVD rentals. Considering the non-box office potential of "S. Darko", it's only natural the distributors are going for the core audience of the first one… renters. Direct to DVD does not always mean shit, Perez. Sometimes it is a wise marketing decision. Oh, and the trailer friggin rocks!!
