Conan Departs On A High Note

As we mentioned this weekend, the final episode of Late Night with Conan O'Brien aired Friday night and was surprisingly good.

The White Stripes even took the stage as the ultimate musical guest of the show's history.

Now according to reports, it turns out that Friday's show actually got Conan his best overnight ratings in two years.

It's nice to see that after 16 years on the job, O'Brien, who originally took over back in 1993 after David Letterman left, went out with a bang!

Nielsen data shows that his last episode averaged a 2.6 overnight rating.

As for you die-hard Conan fans, no worries, you'll catch the ginger starting June 1st when he takes over the Tonight Show.

      As a Brit have watched Johnny Carson, David Letterman, Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien over the years.

      These people are rubbish.

      Can't understand why you guys consider these twerps to be entertainment.

      I've loved Conan since I was 8 years old and watched his show from day one. I love him, but I doubt his show will ever be the same. Best guy ever.

      I just can't stand this buffoon. Same stupid moves every time I'm unfortunate enough to get stuck watching the show. Interviews by asking a question and then interrupting the guest when they TRY to answer. Just a lame person all around.

      I can't understand all these haters! Conan O'Brien was the only shred of quality or talent left in the entire latenight lineup. Letterman's okay, but aside from him look at who he's up against.. Kimmel, Carson Daly, Leno? These are some of the most painfully unfunny bastards in all of show business. Craig Ferguson's a nice bloke it seems but even he is so lame it hurts. I am relieved he's going to stay on the air. My only disappointment is that Leno didn't get the boot. Ugh. And Conan's NOT ugly!

      Did anyone SEE & (unfortunately) HEAR the performance by the White Stripes?
      Wow. Ummm. . .It began with a violent head toss by the Mama Cass lady, flinging that huge flower out from behind her ear and then it pretty much went downhill from there. Perezzers was so kind when he reffered to it as a "rough start". So kind.
