In a letter this weekend, Microsoft is telling some of its laid off employees it overpaid their severance.
AND, they'd like the fired workers to pay them back, please.

And all the severance pay that IS returned will go directly to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation? The CEO's probably need additional funding for their corporate jets, yachts, limos and luxurious vacations this year and can't get their greedy fists on any Bailout money to pay for these things.

Re: kristenleigh – Don't say apple wouldn't do this. they are a business. As a devoted mac user, they have done things that have upset me- ie. paying $100 for ProApple care. You think the extended warranty would be enough.

In the book Animal Farm which was written many years ago, the animals all agreed They Were ALL Equal, just some were more equal than others. Today people like Gates, Soro's, Clinton, Gore, Obama, Oprah seem to feel the same way The DESERVE it all, but we the Little People deserve little to nothing. Open your eyes SEE how they live (using a 10,000 gal an hour jet to fly 300 miles) telling YOU walk YOU are destroying the atmosphere? And Bill Gates has nothing to do with the running of the company. HE'S RETIRED! And even before he retired he wasn't the CEO of the company, he headed up the development of technology. Steve Balmer is and has been CEO of Microsoft for many years.
How is this audacious or shady in any way? Why should they get to keep money they did not earn? Forget about the fact they were laid off! They absolutely have the right to ask for the overpayments back!
this happened to me when i was laid off from HP. they sent a letter that they overpaid me $765… not a huge sum in the whole scheme of things… and they even sent a collection agency after me. this does NOT surprise me, sadly.
M$ should be forced to buy everyone in America a mac for all they shit they've caused…
