Rock Star: INXS Winner Fires Himself??
JD Fortune, the lead singer of INXS, just screwed himself over big time!!!
The reality show winner complained to Entertainment Tonight Canada last week about an incident in which he claims he was kicked out of INXS after their last international tour ("I was in an airport in Hong Kong and literally got handshakes of `thank you very much.'") which lead to a downward spiral of cocaine abuse and eventually homelessness.
Too bad for Fortune because the word from the INXS camp is that they still considered JD a part of the group!!!
Record label head and former manager Chris Murphy told reporters an INXS album is freshly in the works on his new label and the band was days away from giving Forture the heads up!! "Not only are we shocked by the claims, even the place the supposed incidident was to have taken place is a mystery to the band. I guess I have no reason to call him now," says Murphy.
Sucks for you, JD!
Although it is a little strange that the band is claiming they were just about to call JD after a year hiatus and no contact with the singer during that time.
Could the band be trying to save face?

I'm surprised the guy won to begin with. His douchiness was bound to get him canned sooner or later. And if he's living in his car again after several years of being in a successful band, he's got nobody to blame but himself.

Come on, JD is a terrific singer - he makes the group. It's just hard to replace a lead singer, but JD is really good. I don't think a lot of people have given him the chance he deserves. It was probably hard for him to fit in with a bunch of guys that had already bonded for years. The lead singer gets all the credit, and maybe the old band just can't handle that! JD rocks!

nobody knows the whole story yet, there is probably a method to jd's madness in all this….. he is an artist, and was probably wanting the chance to be himself, his own voice, his own music for a change. he started out doing elvis, then michael, and maybe he thought that this was his chance to do his own thing at last!!! his new music is so great, by the way! check his songs out on his myspace!!!!!!
I smell another round of "RockStar:INXS" coming……….. Brooke's done dancing, Dave's busy with his radio show, Jane's Addiction reuniting, but I'm sure he'll make time to host it, I'm in!!!!!!

I know for a fact that he is a egotistical troublemaker who pushed the boundaries from day one. He has drug problems… He trashed hotel rooms, would disappear before shows, etc.
The band have tried constantly to contact him since they were last together on tour but he loses phones, relocates all the time, deletes email accounts, refuses to speak to them unless it's through a manager etc.
He is definately doing this to draw attention to his new "solo career" which the rest of the band only knew about thanks to his shoddy website!

Holy crap! INXS is just pissed because they chose a pretty face to represent their music! Runner up Marty Casey was so much more talented and grounded!!! And I don't just say that because he is a local favorite of mine. (LoveHammers is his band and he's from Illinois!) I went to see INXS after airing when they came to Chicago….only to see LoveHammers, not gay ass too good for his new audience JD 'Mis'Fortune!!! In fact at that theatre there were plenty of people that actually left after LH performed!! Used to be an INXS fan and thought finding a new lead would help them emerge into the new era but sorry guys just admit you messed up!

I LOVE JD! I saw him in Philly right after the show and he was awesome (saw Marty Casey too and he was great as well). I think that the band is saving face. JD obviously has had drug problems in the past and he's fallen off the wagon (admittedly). I hope they reconcile; I would buy the CD!

INXS DID THE REALITY SHOW TO GAIN RELEVANT FAME AGAIN, THEY PERFORMED THE SHOWS THAT WERE IN CONTRACT WITH THE REALITY SHOW AND THEN SENT JD PACKING. THEY ARE NOW SAVING FACE BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT THEIR OLD FANS TO KNOW THAT THEY ARE JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER MONEY HUNGRY BAND, SELL OUTS!!!!! DIGNITY IS A VIRTUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think JD was already history and he just gave the band a lucky out, their spokesdude blew it a bit, but JD also got free PR for his new album.
If one knew the history behind the official website you wouldn't be surprised that JD's picture is still there - they went for the economy package. They might have to pay someone to change the graphics.
INXS fans didn't even know Chris Murphy was back managing the band until this drama happened.
Chris is a new manager for inxs. He came on board in December and 2 months later he was gonna call the lead singer????????? Who is playin who? Go to JDfortune448 myspace and listen to his music. Guy is talented as hell a true artist. If his myspace isn't up yet go to fortune448.com they can direct u. Perez you will love his music and u will see that he agrees with u that he fired himself.

That's Hutchence. Damn, it's already been pointed out once. Anyway, the band just needs to give it up. Move on and create a new band, a la New Order. Michael is not replaceable, and they should stop trying to recreate what is gone.
