SAG Shut Down AMPTP's Offer!

Is another strike about to hit Hollywood???

The Screen Actors Guild has rejected the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers' final offer!!!

SAG was about to accept the AMPTP's offer when the producers slipped in a last minute adjustment.

"The AMPTP's last-minute, surprise demand for a new term of agreement extending to 2012 is regressive and damaging. [This] was not a part of their final offer of June 30, 2008; it was not part of the federally mediated talks of November 2008, and should not have been inserted into the discussions when we returned to negotiations on February 17, 2009."

SAG claim being on a different timeline than other unions would "deleverage our bargaining position from this point forward."

A 75% union agreement would be needed for a strike of the Screen Actors Guild.

You better think of something quick, AMPTP!

This really blows. The writers strike only lasted 4 months but it ruined TV for a whole year. I hope they get this shit worked out. In this economy noone can afford to do shit but sit home and watch TV and movies.

WAKE UP PEOPLE - STOP GOING TO THESE LOUSY MOVIES FOR AWHILE, these people are ALL overpaid. Why is it the job and the hard work you do is measured by so many dollars an hour and these greedy pigs demand multimillion dollar pay days (more then you make in a lifetime for a few months work) then cry like babies about their poor poor incomes How many of you posters live in a 10,000 square foot home or drive $200,000 cars? It's about time to tell them to kiss our A** , because we are the ones who pay their salaries in the end?

Unions are what's ruining us. Look at the auto companies. Obama wants to socialize us, he needs to get on Hollywood and dock the overpaid and get rid of these unions. No more big pay for anyone, that's our Obama!

Re: Mentalist – I hear You-that's why I watch all these new movies on the internet FOR FREE!Some where a studio exect. is shitting his pants right now !

Re: Mentalist – I couldn't have said it better myself. Who cares if they strike. That could save all of us a little cash when we drop cable. I haven't been to the movies in forever, why pay $10 per person to watch a movie you can watch a week or so later at home. With your own popcorn and coke saving another $15.

After the last strike and so many good shows are gone don't they realize that we don't really care about them. Yeah, TV is good entertainment when you are bored but during the last strike we went out and did more, got to know the neighbors, had them over to play cards and games. People will move on, and not miss the dumbass shows they have been putting out here recently.
