Slumdog's Freida Pinto Scores a Woody Allen Movie

Freida Pinto and her fellow Slumdog Millionaire co-stars appeared on the Monday edition of the Today show to celebrate their eight Oscar wins.

On the show, the beautiful Miz Pinto revealed that her next project is with the iconic Woody Allen and filming starts in July!

Uh oh, Scarlett Johansson! Does that mean Freida's knocking you off the Woody Allen muse pedestal?

If Freida's lucky, her role in Woody's next film might score her an Oscar nod, a la Penelope Cruz!

Woody always trampolines off the backs of the latest 'it' girl. I know Hollywood seems to think he's a big break, but truthfully I haven't cared for more than two of his movies. I enjoyed one Annie Hall, but I adore Diane Keaton, but in my opinion, the best scene he ever did was dressed up as a giant sperm.

What's wrong with a distinct Asian accent and appearance?
Ingrid Bergman was accented and so were many others. Distinct Jewish names and appearances weren't considered a liability in Tinseltown. Ms. Pinto has proven she's a talent, and doors will open for her.

Woody Allen has seldom hired Black actors and actresses, but like another poster says, he seeks to grab "it" girls in the hope of gaining attention for his oddball projects. Jean Doumanian is lucky to finally be rid of Allen and his greedy, money-grubbing ways. He's been irrelevant at least since "Hannah and Her Sisters," which was long ago.
