Movie mogul and Arrested Development executive producer, Ron Howard, confirmed Sunday night at the Oscars that the film version of the television show is on - for sure!
Too bad he wouldn't confirm the status of Michael Cera returning to his role as George Michael Bluth!
"We've been asked to no longer divulge anything or get into the game of who's in, who's out," Howard dished to reporters on Sunday evening.
Sigh.
Cera's been hemming and hawing over his involvement with the movie, claiming he won't make a decision until he sees a scrip and that the film is "more hypothetical than people would think."
With the newfound confirmation from Ron Howard, we would definitely confirm the Arrested Development movie as being more than hypothetical!!
Or maybe this is all to drum up publicity for the upcoming movie??

Who's been waiting for it? Perez and a handful of people. That doesn't mean it won't make money but none of us is sitting at home with our dog looking up info from IMDB, MTV or stealing from TMZ about this possible movie being made.

As cute and disfunctional as the little jailbait was he can be written into college AND a conversation with him pieced together by dialogue from the show. Yeah he should not hold out too much. He could also be played by Just about ANY overweight child actor. That kid from Two and Half Men would probably LOVE to break into film. I would not hold out TOO long.
All I can say is, "Thank god, he finally dropped the comb-over!"

The movie would not be as good without the original show's cast. I can't be forgiving enough to pretend that another actor is playing the part.

I think that if Michael Cera isn't going to do the movie, then they should cast someone else for the role, and be reeallly obvious about it. But still have Cera in the old family photos, with comments on "how much he's changing" coming up all the time, like they did with the 3 Martas.
I'd love it if Cera would be in the movie, but I don't want anyone in the cast to act like such a primadonna that the movie doesn't get made!!!
