Pete Wentz Named as Host for the MTV Awards Down Under

Pete Wentz and the rest of the Fall Out Boy guys were spotted at an Xbox party in Sydney, Australia on Sunday.
Pete revealed at the party that he's set to 'host' MTV-Australia's awards show on March 27th.
The new dad said, "Taking part in the MTV Awards nominations launch last week was a blast, and being MTV family, hosting the Vodafone MTV Australia Awards 2009 will give me the perfect excuse to come back to this spectacular country and for an even bigger party!"
Looks like Oz has nothing but love for the Emo king. That, or everybody else they asked to host the big show said no!

Personally im not a huge fan - but Fall Out Boy gets a lot of air play here on Australian Radio….so it doesn't surprise me that they asked him to host. You guys love to hate your stars don't you??

Oh my gosh people are really overreacting, i think its great that we have such a personality and artistic mind hosting our awards. The empire people are talking about would be DecayDance, his record label, that co-labels with Fueled By Ramen for Panic AT The Disco and is the record label for many others. Also, i dont find him emo at all, just cause he wears eyeliner and has black hair does not make him emo. And another thing i would like to say, Pete is not the one with the high voice, he actually does deep parts and/or screaming, Patrick is the one with the lovely high voice, as for Patrick hosting, lovely as he is, he wouldnt do it because after seeing them in concert you realise hes not a show pony but rather shy on stage, he hardly said a thing. I think Pete is a great choice and i think its good Australia is getting recognised by more international artists. ps. read some of his twitter comments, he's actually a very funny, and deep guy
