We don't think funnyman Adam Sandler will be laughing about the lawsuit he's been slapped with!
Comic book author Robert Cabell is suing Sandler, his production company, Sony and Columbia Pictures for copyright infringement!!
Cabell claims Sandler stole the idea for 2008's You Don't Mess with the Zohan from his comic book series, Hair-Raising Adventures of Jayms Blonde.
Somebody actually wants to take responsibility for that shiteous film?

Zohan follows the story of an "Israeli special forces officer who fakes his death and takes a job as a New York City hairdresser," while Jayms Blonde, is the chronicle of a "Navy SEAL-turned-hairdresser out to get corporate evildoers armed with an Uzi-style blow-dryer."

Cabell even pitched the idea for a Jayms Blonde film to Columbia in 2007, around the same time Zohan started filming.
Zohan Co-writer Robert Smigel has said in previous interviews that the inspiration behind Zohan was taken from two Saturday Night Live sketches, "Sabra Price Is Right" and Sandler's very first SNL sketch, "Sabra Shopping Network."

How can someone who isn't creative enough to come up with their own title and call something jayms BLONDE as a spoof on james bond sue ANYONE for copyright infringement, let alone for that exact thing.
It doesn't even sound THAT similar. I'm going to be the one that has to say this, but I love that fucking movie. I think shitious comedy can be hilarious to me. I wasn't expecting this movie to be some oscar winner. It was just hilarious. Dave Matthews had the funniest part in the whole thing.

Gosh, I can't believe Sandler would take a chance of being sued for a D- movie like this. The only part I saw of it was Mariah looking gorgeous. I can only imagine how traumatic it must have been for her to be in this hideous movie. I sure hope this Cabell guy wins this lawsuit. You know the economy is bad when even rich celebs are thieves.

Suing for copyright infringement is ridiculously tough. It has to be insanely similar to pass the legal muster to make a claim. It can't just be the idea of somethling, like you mapped out here. Legally, ideas are FREE. You've got to copy scenes, sequences, real details. NOT easy, and studios (and theiving writers) purposely alter just enough to destory someone's case. It's hideous. Steven Speilberg is one of the absolute worst at this. Probably Sandler did read the comic and use it as inspiration, which sucks, but he'll likely win the lawsuit.

That's right 'are13' (comment 32) I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry is a rip-off of Paul Hogan's 2004 Australian comedy, Strange Bedfellows.. Michael Caton once gave screenplay to Rob Schneider. Caton and Schneider worked together on another Hollywood comedy The Animal which had Sandler as executive producer.
"I'm going to have to get on to Rob Schneider and say you owe me one, pal, or Adam Sandler owes me one," Caton said.
"They're really good mates and it's obvious he's said 'Hey, have a look at this'."
If it's not nailed down and protected with iron clad copyright in Hollywood, somebody will steal it, and will have their defense planned before they try to.
