The Pivert's Time Is Up

Jeremy Piven's hearing before the Actors' Equity committee is tomorrow, and the outcome is not lookin' too good for the Pivert!

Piven's "mercury poisoning" incident, which left him no choice - he claims - but to leave the cast of Broadway's Speed the Plow, has put the hard pAArtying actor's honesty and integrity up for debate.

It was no secret to producers that Piven was less than ecstatic to be a part of the production!

…Piven was agitating to leave the show. He called several prominent actors on his own and begged them to replace him… He was also overheard telling people backstage that he was "bored out of his mind" in the show. Although Piven claimed he was so ill that he often went home after the show, sources say the log shows that he spent many nights out on the town.

Dumb dumb dumb!

Piven left the play permanently, which baffled producers because sick leave is considered temporary. "Unless it's a life-or-death situation, you usually find a temporary replacement and then negotiate a return," says a source.

If Jeremy is found guilty by the committee, his membership with Equity will be terminated and Speed the Plow producers are free to bring Piven to civil court.

Hope the pAArtying was worth it, Pivert!!!

wow wow WOW, i never even thought of this going so far into serious-problem-land!
i've always loved Jeremy Piven but this all seems really shady on his end, especially because of all the partying pictures you've posted here. i hope he has some hard cash saved up from Entourage in order to pay his lawyer fees!!
