Give me a break! This is incredibly stupid. American Spring-breakers are the ones bringing stupidity and violence into Mexico. Drug related violence is increasing because the government is finally getting rid of druglords and cartels. It is sad to have so many drug related deaths but they are all from cartels and from law enforcement. Spring breakers that end up hurt are careless. If you have to go to another country to get wild and do everything you can't do at home you really cannot expect to be risk-free.
Spring-breakers are a plague in our country.

I live in mexico and i do see violence but that violence is due to the government fighting the drug cartels.Behave the way you would behave in any other country. I own a home near Rosarito, Mexico. The rules apply in Mexico like the USA. If you are a drug user and associate with drug dealers, your risk goes way up.
If you are out at 3 a.m. in rough areas, your risk goes way up as well. In Mexico or anywhere, use common sense.
I'm American living in Mexico for the past 8 months, I have never felt anymore unsafe here than when I was living in Los Angeles, Ca.! Golden Rule..If you keep away from the use or purchasing of drugs, guns or prostitution you'll be safe!

i was just in tijuana last week, and didn't have any problems… well, not really… one day about a block away from where my friends and i parked there were 3 guys with m16s… kinda scary but w/e, they were gone within the hour… just don't buy drugs and you should be ok

Turists are treated soo good in Mexico, and its like in Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Cabos and all beaches are very secure, nothing happens there, unless you buy drugs and refuse to pay the dealers and stuff like that haha… but its all very lame… Mexico is amazing…

I bet anyone on here, if you get out of the rock in which you live under, you would realize that the United States is no perfect country. I think people have to realize that it depends on what part of Mexico you're traveling to. And the key is DON'T DRIVE YOUR OWN CAR there! I almost lost mine due to some shady policia. (Went in a store, came out, and they stuck a moveable "no parking" sign in front of my car, then extorted $200 out of me so I could have my car. Did I mention it was the cops?)
There are some nice parts though, but be careful. And by the way, I wasn't a spring breaker.
