J. Lo & Skeletor Sue Baby Stroller Company
Despite the fact that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony's marriage might be on the rocks, that won't stop them from making a quick buck together.
The "happily married" couple is suing mad!
It seems British baby carriage manufacturer Silver Cross has been using a photo in ads of Jenny and Skeletor pushing their twins around in their strollers.
And since the multi-million-dollar couple didn't agree to that or get a dime from the use of their image, they've decided to sue for trademark infringement in federal court yesterday.
The suit claims Silver Cross used their photograph online and also in ads without their consent, in turn deceiving the public into "believing that Lopez and Anthony endorse and sponsor" the company.
Somehow we doubt anyone is gonna buy a stroller because Skeletor and P Diddy's ex are pushing it around. Do people even care about these two anymore?
As for the lawsuit, they're seeking $5 million in damages, along with a permanent injunction against the company ever using their names and images.
Oh, and they also want any money that may have resulted from the use of their images.

I just read online that they were paid 6 million to do the photo shoot in the first place and probably got the strollers for free. Do not know the truth in it. But wouldn't be surprised.

Ya gotta pay the piper. You can't just use someone's image for free to advertise your product without their permission, particularly if the people involved are high profile and are being used arguably because of that profile to sell product. Pay up, or pay in court. Even a Joe Schmoe off the street who happens to have twins would get renumeration to pose for a carriage company, and could sue if their image was publicized without their permission. You can't just decide to skip that step because you want to avoid paying someone for their image in your ad. Ideally they should win more than they would have been originally paid, or there will be no future deterrent.

I think they have a legitimate case…not sure about the $5 mil. The stroller co. obviously thought using their images would help them out, otherwise why would they have used them? Why not use models instead?
