Happy news for all you kiddies from the '80s.
Warner Bros and the Kennedy/Marshall Co. are in talks to make another rendition of The Never Ending Story!
The studio recently acquired the rights to the franchise, so there's a good chance of a remake coming soon.
The new flick would put a modern twist on the classic tale.
As for the original film, it came out in 1984, followed by a sequel in 1990 and a third flick in 1996. So is a fourth version really necessary?

This upsets me. it's one of my favorite movies ever and I'm pretty sure that if they "update" it, they'll only eff up the magic that it possesses.

OH MY GOD! I used to love these movies when I was little. My Mom and I used to watch them together all the time; they are a classic. Now, let's just hope that new Hollywood doesn't go in there and screw them up.

I'm all for a remake of the original. I loved it as a kid. Total guilty pleasure. The FX are pretty ghetto compared to what they can do today. If they can update it and do a good job that would be nice!

I'm actually interested to see what it will turn out with. I have no real problem with them remaking movies as long as they are better. Also, a lot of people from the younger generation don't really know about this movie and since I love it I want younger peeps to love it too

I get it they want to open it to new audiences and some of it cash flow… But there is nothing wrong with the old ones they were pure perfection that's why they were so popular to begin with… Why not just rerelease the original instead of playing with fire and possibly ruining a classic!

Now I'm pissed. The Neverending Story is one of my favorite movies and books! I saw it in theaters when it first came out. I have the Auryn tattooed on my back. I have loved this movie since I was a little girl. This makes me sick. Hollywood, shame on you. Leave my childhood alone!!!!!!!!!!

One of my favorites as a kid. I watched it over and over and over again. I don't mind a remake if they do it justice. Unlike the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory remake. That remake was horrible. I would be willing to give the remake a chance.

the neverending story was my all-time favorite movie as a kid, and i still love it now. i don't really want to see a remake, but as long as it's done right i don't mind. there's a lot the original two movies (i refuse to acknowledge the neverending story 3) left out of the book, so perhaps a remake wouldn't be the worst thing.

I actually loved this movie, but sadly watched the other 2 when they came out also. The funny thing is, for those of you who don't know, a young Jack Black was in the Prequel.

HELL NO. I would not go see it. Why can't Hollywood come up with something original. First they are taking all our great cartoons and turning them into (not so bad) movies then the cartoon is back on, only it's not the same. Now they are making prequals and sequals and remakes of our classics. Come up with something new…use your brain…it's in that lump that's about 3 feet above your ass!

I had 2 role models growing up. Oliver Barret from the Neverending Story and Paul Reubens from Pee Wee's Playhouse. Oliver up and dropped out of showbiz for reasons I never heard or got. And Paul copped a plea for child porn. he should have gone to jail instead of paying his way out of trouble. Any ways kids, don't have role models, they will only fuck you up for the rest of your lives.

This movie was perfection! what could you do really? either make something as good as the first one!? or mess it up completely! I hope they go the Batman route and transcend the original (tough, but hey you never know!)
Remake would look good but it's getting tiring seeing them remake every movie. IDK maybe with all the new technology & such then maybe it's a good thing. Alot of remakes have turned out great! Except I still think they should leave Karate Kid alone!!
